One observation I made in the Cincy game, Mac---I think Dez does a lot better on crossing routes and straight flys than on stop-and-go read routes.

Yeah, it would be interesting to see if there has been some sort of adjustment by the staff on what they ask him to do. I don't want to jump to that conclusion because I think it implies that he's not a smart player or can't handle the mental part of the game. I think that would be unfair for us to assume without some sort of inside knowledge.

I tend to think it's more about a kid that just hasn't played a ton of football and it's just now starting to click. WRs in the NFL have a history of taking about 3 years to have an impact. Dez missed almost all of his final season at OSU. He was injured in training camp his rookie year and then had the broken ankle. So the reality is that while he's a 3rd year player, based on actual time on the field, he's probably somewhere in the middle to end of his 2nd year.
