REady for some football? gonna be the slobberknocker of the week.

It will be close and decided most likely by the last drive, east Texas speed vs. West Texas tenacity. Strap'em tight and hold on, both fans will see some shocking football played tonight. Will be listening at home from Central Texas with great interest. Safe travels and an injury free game.

Remember, great sportsmanship guys, the guys on the field will show you, both are class programs, don't diasppoint your hometown 16-18 year olds.

Here's my prediction: The same team that beat Henderson and Argyle will show up for this game against the Graham Steers, and they will be more than up for the task at hand. Get ready for a team filled with athleticism and speed. Argyle is no slouch, but they outplayed us in every facet that nite. Our qb was not ready for the speed that pressured him all nite in the backfield. Henderson will attest to the same kind of problems they had in maintaining the ball on offense. Both teams will score, but the Buckeyes will out-athlete the Steers and that will again be the difference here. I look for a very similar score to the Argyle game....about 42-21 Gilmer. Maybe the Steers can keep it closer with some turnovers, but they must make those turnovers cash. I don't think Graham will be able to stop Gilmer on offense, but I think Gilmer will be able to stop Graham on defense. Good luck to both teams. BTW, I think Gilmer can play with anyone is DII this year, and win! Just my take on this game.

I think you my friend are underestimating the steer offense, but that's ok we don't need you to pull for us. The steers will be ready for the task at hand and prove alot of people wrong. I see it in these young mens eyes they are going to be very well prepared for tonights game. We have two of the best coorinators imo in the state, and a Great group of coach's teaching these young men each and every week. It's fun to here these coach's say that this is a great group of players and that they all play for the same Brand. STEERS go out and stand for your BRAND and bring home the hardware.....STATE BOUND

Reagle, I respect your call, not just because it's going Gilmer's way on this one, but you call it like you see it! I think your right on the #, maybe plus or minus a score on each! Hopefully you make the trip down! I look for the Buckeyes to play really well! Im sure Graham will be in there, but Gilmer in MY opinion, has just played the better competition, again that's just my opinion! Traylor will have the Bux, revved up for this one, let's pray for no RAIN. no injuries, and just a Great Football Game! Safe Travels Everyone!

If we win a game it's because we played good ball! that's what I like about our coaches , they ain't putting up with that crap, it makes everyone look bad!!!

Here goes my prediction.....

Graham win the toss and defers to the second half.

Gilmers first drive ends with a punt.

Graham takes the ball and drives the field for a score.

Gilmer take the ball and drives 50 yards and turns it over with a bad pass.

Graham takes the ball and drives the field for another score.

Gilmer takes the ball only 30 yards and is stuffed on a 3rd and long with a qb sack for a 9 yard loss.

Graham takes the ball 40 yards and scores again!

halftime

Graham get the ball the second half and scores again..

Gilmer goes the passing game and trys and catch up and it only get worse from there.

Gilmer scores 14 in the second half but Graham rolls with the win.

Looks like Graham vs Gilmer stole the show here on 3ADL for this week. I've got Gilmer, Navasota, and Stephenville as my picks. I kinda figure Navasota and Stephenville are heavily favored in those games....so this game is the real BIGGIE for tonite. Good luck to both squads. I don't dislike or disrespect the Graham Steers...just the opposite. I have the utmost admiration for their Coaches, players, and fanbase. If there is a team likened to Argyle in lots of ways, I would have to say it is both the teams. Next year all three will be one year more seasoned with lots of returning starters on both sides of the ball. Conner Wilson is just a junior, as is Sadler, Boyzuick and a host of others. And many sophs also....just like these two teams. That's another reason this game is so interesting. Not that many seniors will be leaving the starting line-up for next season. Should be a great ballgame. I'm guessing it will not be that rainy or wet. I hope it's not, anyways. May the best team win.

Gilmer has the advantage going into this game on strength of schedule and a win margin on Kilgore just under what Stephenville won by IMO. Alvarado heard the same thing last year with Chapel Hill beating teams like La Vega, West Columbia, and Navasota. I am hoping for a Graham upset tonight and would not be surprised if the steers give Gilmer all they want. Send the east packing Graham!

This Gilmer team is just like the Gilmer 2004 team, loose all the 2003 senior super stars and come back the next year and win it all. I did not think anybody could beat Navasoda this year, but the Buckeyes are on a dang mission. I hope the Buckeyes stay focused and keep rolling in the second half against these steeers.. I did not get to see my Dawgs play at Jerrys house this year, but I will dang sure be in the stands watching the Buckeyes. Lets go Buckeyes.

There is a lot of crow to be consumed.

Gilmer was by far the better team tonight. Sure, Graham dropped some passes, but those dropped passes didn't cause Gilmer to constantly get pressure on the QB or allow Gilmer to score 50 points on offense.

I am pleasantly surprised at how lopsided this game was. I figured Gilmer would win, but I couldn't have dreamed of it being by that much.

Congrats on a great season Graham. You guys still have some great skill players coming back next year. I would imagine you guys have a pretty good shot of winning your region again next year as well.

I know I would have never thought we would have made it this far with how we started this season. But this team has done an amazing job of getting better every game. If the Gilmer team from tonight could play the Gilmer team from Game 1, it would be a major blowout by tonight's team.

We really do have an amazing coaching staff! We are lucky to have every coach that we do.

Way to go Buckeyes! We are so proud of you and all you have done so far! Lets go finish this next week!

We were just a tad shocked to say the least!!! We shot our selves in the foot a lot!!! Not our best game for sure but I'm glad we got to play the best, and it may sound bad but I would rather get beat like this than by 1, that really sucks!!! This way I kind of had time to prepare!!!

You Grahamites had a very good season. Your boyz were young like ours and did good. Gilmer was young too, but they are absolutely loaded with talent and speed at almost every position and are deep. They are ready now....Argyle will be better able to play them again next season(I'm hoping), haha. I suspect we will be hearing good things about your Steers next season as well. Heck we may even get to play each other....ya just never can tell. Everybody have a good rest, and we'll see ya next week.

What has been the back breaker in most games this year is Gilmer's ability to execute their offense utilizing their speed. That offense has gotten more complex and honed as the year has gone by............mostly, what you have seen is what you get......just better! The other intangible that has been in Gilmer's favor all year long is their conditioning. If Graham can hang with the pace of the game that Gilmer will dictate, they can stay competitive. If not, there will be a run by Gilmer sometime in the game ala the Henderson game that will put it away. Looking forward to a great game! Have to call it Gilmer by 17.

Who said that? I truly expected a closer game but was pleasantly surprised at the execution by the Buckeyes on both sides of the ball. A few penalties from aggressive play but that is football. As long as they are not flagrant, I can live with it until it begins to cost you. It did not tonight. Constant pressure on the QB on defense and some rock 'em sock 'em hitting took its toll. The barage of offensive weapons seemed to throw the Steers off their game early and they did not recover. All of the 4th down stops (3 or4?) were killers. Speed? The only long run was the pass to Gonzalez for the Steers for a TD. Our guy could not catch him. But, the overall quickness of the Buckeyes was obviously something more than the Steers were prepared for. With that said, the Steers are a good team and with what they have coming back will be a force next year. I look forward to seeing them again.

Now, the Rattlers. Gilmer will make another believer out of them as we have the others during this run. I am on record here with Gilmer winning 56-35. And if everything clicks like tonight, we might beat Stephenville's scoring record. Hats off to the Buckeyes!

Boy, that's gonna be a great game next week alright. And you didn't hesitate to take a big gulp of Buckeye kool-aid after this game. Guess what? I've been drinking some of that kool-aid myself since the Bucks whooped up on us several weeks back. And I'm thinking like you are.....look out Rattlers. This team is no longer on a mission....they are absolutely steam-rolling to the final game. Couldn't have it any better after losing Luke Turner last season right before the regional. Good luck to the Buckeyes next week.

Well for you die hard Steer smackers, dont say you were not warned, getting humbled is a terrible thing, and the crow is always lousy! When you hear the word District of Doom, its was a name given by people that are not in it, it is for real, if you win that district, you are for real, this Buckeye Team is young at most of the skilled positions, talented but young, they have been searching for rythem, and trying to grow up all season, when they played Kilgore, and keep them on the ropes all night, and shut down their last scoring attempt, I knew they had what it takes, to make a deep run, they just know how to win,, Everyone toot Navasota's horn all you want, yes they are a good football team, but so is the Buckeyes,, we have played teams like Navasota, all season, Gladewater, Atlanta x2, Kilgore, Henderson x 2, Chapel Hill, Daingerfield, all big strong lightning fast football teams, and the Bux have found away to win all of them,,, because seriously its all hype till the teams line up on the field, and with Jeff Traylor on the sidelines, quiding his cruise missles, it can get ugly real fast, can I get an Amen, from the Graham faithfull? Good luck to the folks from Graham, and to its team!

have played teams like Navasota, all season, Gladewater, Atlanta x2, Kilgore, Henderson x 2, Chapel Hill, Daingerfield, all big strong lightning fast football teams, and the Bux have found away to win all of them

I'm going to have to disagree with part of that. Sure, we have played some teams that were big, strong and fast but not many, if any, that were all 3 and could pass like Navasota can.

I do believe Gilmer can beat them, but it will be extremely tough.

Easy there bearbear78.. Anyone that knew what both had this season wasn't as surprised. Kilgore only lost to Gilmer by 6. Easy to think Gilmer is the best team in 3A after their performance against Graham. They are a great team as are the Steers. Gilmer just overpowered them. Only a handful of teams could give Gilmer a game this season and Stephenville is definitely be one of them. Navasota and Kilgore are the others.

SMH.... We beat every team in our path to get there so yep we belonged and if we would have played lights out it would have been a hell of a game , not saying we would have won it because Gilmer is stacked and they execute well and they were the better team . Now if they were to lose to the rattlers by a large margin will that mean they don't deserve to be there? NOPE, because they beat us to get there and they deserve it. It's too early, put the bottle down!

Never said Graham didnt belong on the same field I said they "looked" like they didnt. They beat everyone they had to in order to get where they got. They just had an easier path than alot of other teams did. Graham had a good year but it became obvious pretty quickly that it was gonna be a long night.

Holy smokes that was a completely different Buckeye team than the one that started the season! Graham, I have to say your guys have some class and there's nothing to hang your heads about, making it to the top 4. I hope we can face y'all again next year and see how the two teams have grown. Can't wait to go to "The Death Star" as I like to call Jerry World and watch Daingerfield vs Cameron Yoe (who is favored in that one?) before Gilmer takes the field against Navasota. I think it will be an electrifying game, from what I have seen on Navasota they look explosive on both sides, so Gilmer better bring their best game yet. I know we can, and everyone here is a believer now! Let's Go Bucks!

Have you been drinking heavily? I think you will have more than you can handle with Navasota!

You sound just like the postettes that have responded for the past few weeks, and you are a Stephenville backer? It would be fun for the D1 champ be allowed to play the D2 champ. then you would understand. Come on over to Jerry World and you can see it for yourself. Navasota will be a believer. Of course, you will still be saying Navasota is not Stephenville. That is very fortunate for Stephenville this year. Gilmer may score more, Navasota may score less. But, Gilmer will take it to them. (And all I had was Pepsi!)

Sometimes the truth hurts Bear.
Fact is Graham was in the weakest region and the top teams in region 1 were in division 1. Gilmer fans tried to tell Graham fans all week what was gonna happen and it did. Gilmer was battle tested in probably the toughest district in 3a. Believe me I wanted Graham to win but deep down knew they would have to play out of their minds to win. It does suck that Graham had never won state and probably the only way they ever will is if they can somehow get dropped to 2a.
