Great game El Campo. Your team proved alot of people wrong tonight. Really impressed with the toughness of the QB, and I can't say enough about #6...Kid is a straight beast. I am sad the Bulldawgs lost this game, but we shoot ourselves in the foot too many times this entire season, and it culminated in a tough loss to a good team. I'm proud of this group of Carthage kids, and hopefully they take some lessons from this defeat. We have become very spoiled in Carthage the last several years, and being humbled sometimes is a good thing. I will not comment on some of the questionable 4th quarter decisions, because this is not the place to do so, but if you were at the game then you will understand. Carthage was given every chance to win this game, but El Campo never quit, and made the plays when they counted the most. I already said it on the other thread, but I will take my crow blackened.

As for the scuffle at the end of the game, I will say before anybody else has the chance that we do not encourage that kind of behavior at Carthage. Let's just remember these are Highschool kids, and emotions were high. Seemed like a very clean game by two good teams before that incident.

Good luck next week El Campo, I will be rooting for you guys...Good season Bulldogs, lets work hard in the offseason starting Monday, and come back stronger next year.

We had quite a few things that went against the birds. However, our kids kept plugging and our coaches were patient and did thwir typical great job and didn't do things that were unexplainably stupid (not to point fingers).

#6 was dragging an offensive tackle all night and never got a call. One of our fumbles was clearly not. Carthage put two on the ground that were not ruled fumbles. A simple illegal touching was missed on a crucial 3rd and long....but still we kept plugging.

My computer was down so I'm just getting online now. I want to congratulate El Campo on a tremendous victory. I picked the Ricebirds in this one by 14 but it was closer than that. The Ricebirds have a powerful offense and a defense that will make life miserable for your quarterback. Folks were saying they were one dimensional. Well that one dimension is WINNING! When they racked up 28 points against La Grange in the first 8 minutes on our round one match I knew this was an extraordinary team and they proved it tonight. Good luck in the State Championship game and bring home the victory for Region 4.

I am very proud of the team for making it to the simifinals. If just one of the 10 over thrown passes to wide open receivers would have been caught we win. It was not our time, we will go home lick our wounds and go back to work. The Dawgs will be the team to beat again next year. All those Juniors and sophmores will have to listen for a year what could of been and will come back on a mission. To the Rice Birds, you have a good running game and a pretty good Defense. There were bad calls on both sides, but it had nothing to do with winning or loosing this game. You did what nobody thought could be done and that was run the ball without passing. Your coaches did a great job and your players were even better. Next week you will play the best Texas 3A has to offer in the Ville, I do not believe you can just run the ball against a senior laiden team like the Ville and win. We could throw the ball on you all night, but Bogie was off and could not hit wide open receivers. The Ville Q/B will not miss. You have a chance because you have a very good team, but you will have to score often to keep up with the Ville and I just don't see that happening by running the ball. Kilgore has the best D in 3A football but still got beat. The Rice Birds are great against the run, but they will get lit up by the Ville if they do not fix the pass defense. Your assessment sounds like something the guys from KGAS would say...The reason Carthage didn't play very welll or seem to play very well was because El Campo OUTPLAYED us...Not we played bad, and gave it to them...Its this simple: El Campo out coached us, and they made the plays when it mattered the most. #6 is the best player I've seen this year...period. I'm saying seen with my own eyes. Carthage has a great community, people, coaching staff, and football team. I promise we know how to lose with grace. Please don't let 1 give the perception of a whole community. This will probably be last my post of the year, but I just wanted posters to know how most fans in Carthage feel. Im not sure what game you were at, or if you were even at the game!!! Your assessment sounds like something the guys from KGAS would say...The reason Carthage didn't play very welll or seem to play very well was because El Campo OUTPLAYED us...Not we played bad, and gave it to them...Its this simple: El Campo out coached us, and they made the plays when it mattered the most. #6 is the best player I've seen this year...period. I'm saying seen with my own eyes. Carthage has a great community, people, coaching staff, and football team. I promise we know how to lose with grace. Please don't let 1 give the perception of a whole community. This will probably be last my post of the year, but I just wanted posters to know how most fans in Carthage feel. Once again: No excuses from people in the stands...Do we think we beat ourselves; Yes, IMHO their was questionable decisions made in the 4th quarter...Do we think the best team won; yes, you guys exposed a flawed team. I love the Bulldogs more than anybody, but if you think a team that turns the ball over 3 - 4 times a game is of championship caliber then you got some screws loose. And for the record those same 11 juniors coming back on offense, are the same kids giving the ball up.

Great game El Campo....You guys have a team to be proud of, and I was really impressed with your fan base. Good luck the rest of the way. How bout this: Same time, same place next year!!! It was fun with all the smack talk, and homer picks. You guys were right about your team...Awsome.
