1st time watching S'Ville and very impressed with T. Jones. Great/quick release.

Number 1 from Kilgore is a beast running all over S'Ville.

Give Kilgore credit....they made some mistakes and still kept it close. Good win Yellowjackets. All is not as it seems, huh? Still one more game to go, but Stephenville is going to Jerryworld.

Ville rolls. 40 plus on the best defense from the east. Congrats ville. Great game Kilgore. You fought and kept it close

I'd hardly say they "rolled". Kilgore held Sville scoreless in the second half until 2 min left in the game. Kilgore deserves major kudos.

Congrats Stephenville. One to go....

Congrats to Stephenville and Kilgore.

Kilgore showed that Stephenville is very susceptible to the run.

Guess what is coming next week?..........a big time run team with more team speed.

Football is a funny game..for about a quarter and half it looked like it'd be a runaway...then Kilgore dominated....Stephenville's early surge too much...Kilgore will spend all off-season wondering what if

Agree to an extent but that could be ECs problem. It might be close or it could be a blowout

Stephenville rolled for about 20 minutes..it was 35-10...then Kilgore's D forced what 3 straight punts for Stephenville? Thats impressive stuff

Carthage could throw on them easy, but Bogie over threw to many receivers. The Rice Birds can run the ball. Their D is good but not great, if the Ville hits the receivers they will score a bunch, if they try and run it. The Rice Birds can stop it. Good luck to both teams, but I see the Ville winning the game.

EC will score enough to win. SV will be able to keep it fairly close.

If they had kept rolling like they did most of the first half, I'd agree. Kilgore made it a 3 point game with 5 minutes left and as I said Sville didn't get on the board in the second half until 2:09 left in the game to put it away. Kilgore made some special teams blunders (maybe forced) that hurt them in first half. They made another special teams mistake in the second half, but Jones returned the favor with an interception. (2nd of night I think). I guess we have different definitions of "rolling" and that's fine. I doubt any Ville fans in the stands were doing anything short of clenching late in the game.

I am super impressed with the adjustments and the spark that Kilgore came out with in the second half. Moved the ball well...outscored Ville 15-7 in second half. Those boys almost pulled off what no other "domestic" team has been able to.

Both teams left some points on the field with FG attempts. All in all this was a great game. Love to see a group of young men keep fighting like Kilgore did.

Anyway, congrats Ville. Do your thing...

I am more impressed with 42 points against that defense. A lot of east Texas is surprised as well. We all know the crowing that would be going on had the exact opposite happened. I gave Kilgore credit for their comeback. How bout them Indians holding ville to 32?

Congrats Stephenville on a great win!!

Kilgore, great season. Best wishes for the seniors!

I'll elaborate more on the game tomorrow!

Short version. Stephenville was the better team. Both played very physical. Kilgore had more team speed than I've seen in a long time. Stephenville came out and punched Kilgore in the mouth the first 2 quarters. Kilgore basically had 2 long runs for TD's... The rest was all Stephenville. Second half, Kilgore came out and controlled the clock with long drives and made some key plays on defense that disrupted Stephenville and clawed their way back in. That speed kept creeping up on the Ville. Stephenville came out in the second have very conservative looking like they thought Kilgore was done. Wrong idea!!! Kilgore is a great team and fought their way back in it. Kudos to them.

Halftime 35-17
Funny story. At the half, my nephew says "I guess we can say we're going to Jerry World." I said "not yet son. Kilgore is plenty good and the type of team that can make a come back quickly. If Kilgore comes out in the second half and has a long time consuming drive and scores... then holds Stephenville on the first possession, we'll have a ball game on our hands boy." Guess what, that's exactly what happened. Great job by Kilgore's coaching staff and players for great adjustments.

This was one of the better high school games I've seen in a long time. It seemed like the first period was so action packed, that it would never end. I was very, very impressed with the Stephenville town support and booster club which made a lot of noise with propane tank rattlers. One person said the whole town locks up and drives to the game. As far as the game overall, I think it could've gone either way. The offsetting penalty which brought a td back by Kilgore, an easy dropped pass by Sville, a kickoff fumble early in the game and more, more, more. Tyler Jones being a running threat caused havoc on Kilgore's defense throughout the game. When you have an RG3 type player at QB, it's hard to stop an offense.
I will try to make next Friday's game but if I can't be there, then good luck to Sville and bring home the trophy to Region I. Kilgore, congrats on a well played game...I know how much it hurts.
