ALL 12 remaining programs have reached the Quarterfinals at least once before since 2003
Having gone back to dig up all my old histories I've noticed that pretty much all 12 remaining teams have been here before in the past 2-3 decades. Every program has a strong tradition which is awesome to see. Only El Campo has moved into uncharted territory in modern times, advancing to the Semis for the first time since 1967 when they lost to Brownwood in the State Finals. And it should be noted Bellville has two State Final appearances prior to 1980 as recently as 1977. I know I made an arbitrary cutoff.
The winner of Bellville/Port Isabel will be looking at their first Semifinal spot in 9-10 years, if Stephenville wins they'll reach the state finals for the first time in 13 years, if Navasota wins they'll get their first region championship in 24 years, if El Campo wins they'll get their first State Final spot in 45 years
