Should be a very excitng game. These two teams know each other well. I think Gilmer is multi-talented on the field and at full health. I'm not sure about Henderson. At this point, injuries to key starters can make a big difference. Gilmer's looking mighty polished. Henderson is very athletic also. I always get this feeling a mistake is on the horizon with them, though. But they keep winning, and when they have lost it was their own undoing. How's that for some thoughts????

Gilmer I believe has fully gained this community confidence.........not that we weren't always fans and pulling for our team. But they have made us believers. This team has gelled into a very good and very confident group of young men. So much for building for the next two years............the time is NOW. GO BUCKEYES!

After doing some research on this series, I predict it will be closer than the 1928 contest between these two teams. That matchup ended in a final score of Gilmer 101 and Henderson 0.

Im going with Henderson. They have a way of putting it together when it counts. They are also looking for payback on a game they thought they should have won earlier. This one will go down to the wire. Too bad the Indians could not have made it back. Would have loved to see round 3 between us.

Henderson 31

Oh, crap, here we go again. When you say "miss obvious calls" that means they should have called the TWO obvious holding calls that were MISSED on the Lions' final drive that kept the drive alive to begin with? Fortunately, the refs DID make the calls when it counted. It's not Gilmer's fault Henderson couldn't line up right on offense when the TDs were called back. The rules state you have to have SEVEN players on the line of scrimmage, y'all had six. On the two-point conversion attempt to tie it, it was called back when y'all had EIGHT players on the line of scrimmage. Once again that is not Gilmer's fault, nor is it the refs' fault. Just in case you wondered how I know this information, I have the game on my DVR, and have viewed it many times.

The outcome of THIS game depends on several factors: 1) will the Buckeyes have a letdown after the emotional win over Argyle?, 2) will the Buckeyes have a GOOD week of practice?, and 3) will the Buckeyes play 4 quarters instead of 2? Henderson threw the Buckeyes a curve in the second half when they went exclusively to the wildcat formation. Our defense had not seen that formation on film, and therefore were not prepared. Can the Buckeyes stop, or at least keep both Monsta and Wright contained, and force them to throw the ball? On offense, can we execute for all 4 quarters, instead of 2 quarters like we did last time?

I think the Buckeyes can do all of this, and will win. It could be close, but then again, it might not be. I would love the Buckeyes to set the record straight for those who think Henderson should've won the first meeting. Gilmer is the better team.

Henderson was the better team the first game but shot themselves in the foot with those penalties. If we don't shoot ourselves in the foot we will win. We have been a second half team so I hope we don't get too far behind in the first.

I will say this..there is a reason Henderson couldnt get lined up right in the first game. I have saw it for the last three years. There is a reason Gilmer beats Henderson. It is not because we have better players and it is not because of the referees.

Hmmmm.........wow..........and to think that I always thought that the final score indicates who the better team is! I guess Henderson is the best team that didn't win. Y'all can keep that title.....we'll just go by what everybody else goes by.......the SCOREBOARD! Henderson will once again be the better team this Friday night, even if they lose on the scoreboard,, right? Gilmer will win this game where it counts, on the scoreboard! I think this Buckeye team is on a mission. All they know how to do is WIN! It doesn't matter if they win by 1 point, or if they win by 50 points, a win is a win.

Henderson must put together a complete game to win this one. I think this one may come down to who makes the mistake or doesn't score in the 4th quarter. Game is a toss up for me. But I will say this (and probably get slammed for it), whoever wins this game will be in the title game and will win next week vs Region 1 by 14-20 points.

I think #25 from Henderson socres late in the 4th and they miss an extra point and win by 2.

That certainly had something to do with it. I will admit that, but the Buckeyes didn't execute offensively, either. Overthrown passes, missed assignments, and Henderson's defensive adjustments all contributed to the game being close. The Buckeyes have executed MUCH better in all facets of the game since that first meeting. I'm not saying that Henderson hasn't done the same, just saying that the Buckeyes are executing like the Buckeyes we are used to seeing this late in the season. There is so much youth on this team, and it took some good competition to make the necessary corrections, but they are now executing like an offensive machine. The biggest improvement since the last Henderson game is offensive line play, and Tanner Barr's ability to read defenses. Defensively, they have been good all year, although they would give up the big play every now and then. It looks like now they've got all the pieces in the right places, and have found their identity. They've made more critical stops against some very good offensive teams. With enough of those stops, and the offense executing the way they have over the past 4 to 5 games, they will be a tough out. Henderson had not been using the wildcat before the 2nd half in the Gilmer game except on rare occasions. It caught the Buckeyes by surprise and the defense wasn't prepared for it. I'm pretty sure they will be ready for it this go-round. They may not stop it, but they'll certainly slow it down, and I think they'll slow it down enough for the Buckeyes to win. I could be wrong........but I doubt it.:D

Gilmer or Henderson will be playing in the state champion ship game against The Rattlers. My gut tells me Gilmer will make it to the title game. When they beat Henderson and Kilgore, that was enough to make a believer out of me. I like Henderson and wished they were not playing another East Texas team. Gilmer is well coached and will take advantage of every mistake made by the team in front of them. They just find a way to win every game.

Gilmer is fortunate to only be down by 3 at the half. Gilmer had a backwards pass recovered and returned for a TD and Henderson's offense has dominated our defense while Henderson's defensive line has pushed our offensive line around.

If Gilmer can learn to tackle in the locker room we might be alright. Henderson's runners are breaking away from our tacklers and gaining several more yards on every run. It's taking 3 or 4 of our guys to pull them down.

Gilmer is going to have to improve greatly on both sides of the ball to have a chance at winning. If not, it will be a long 20 minute drive home for our kids and the Buckeye Army.

GO GET 'EM BUCKEYES!

Great Win for the Buckeyes! There is absolutely no quit in this team. I have to admit that when the Bucks got down by 17, I was not optimistic that this young team would have what it took to fight back. I will not doubt the heart of this team again. As has happened so often, it seemed the coaching staff made the adjustments, the players executed those adjustments, and the Buckeyes wore out the other team as the game grew longer. When you look at the number of underclassmen on this team, the Buckeyes may own 3A football in Texas for the next few years!

Great comeback on the heels of being down 17, Buckeyes! That was surely a heartstopper for your fans. Congrats to the Henderson Lions on a fine season!

I'll be honest, I was very doubtful of our chances after Henderson got up on us 31-14. They had completely dominated us up to that point.

But like they have done all season, the Buckeyes never gave up and continued to play hard and it paid off.

I'm glad that you beat the trash talkers from Henderson!
