Argyle is moving the ball on the Buckeyes on the ground and is now down to the Buckeye 31 after 3 straight runs.

Big penalty after a time out on Argyle for too many players on the field. 1st down and 15. A terrific catch by Sadler to the 19 for a first down.

3rd and 8 now for the EAgles at the Buckeye 17. Pass to Bode but he is wrapped up quickly. Here comes the field goal unit in for Argyle. Hedland kick was blocked last time. Bad snap again. Cole Hedland fields it and thrown for a loss. Argyle is missing its deep snapper on 3 big plays in this game that have made a big difference. Conner Wilson is not playing due to injury. The Eagles will need to find someone for the deep snapping duties. It has cost them dearly.

Argyle will come out strong no doubt. Gilmer has to come out and double Argyle's intensity and not make mistakes.

Argyle will get the ball to start the 2nd half. So far, it's been a battle in the trenches as Gilmer has succeeded in scoring twice on the Argyle D to take a halftime lead. Looks like the Buckeye D has given up yardage, but a couple of snapping problems have kept Argyle off the scoreboard on 2 field goal attempts by Hedland. Otherwise, this game would have a different score. Argyle must play with the players they have.

Argyle goes 3 and out on a run, a run for a loss, and an incompleted pass. Argyle punts. Sadler punts it rugby style out of bounds at the Gilmer 37 for a 34 yd punt. Gilmer ball , first and 10.

Tanner Barr goes 55 yds on a zone read up the middle for a touchdown. No defense there in the middle that time as Sizelove was set up on the right side of the D. No Conner Wilson there in the middle to make the stop. Just a good read of the defense by Tanner Barr, who was an allstate safety last season has great speed and atheletic ability.

Boyzuick is overthowing Sadler tonite and not connecting. Argyle is running the ball well. Bode is dropped for a loss on 4th and 2 out of the bulls formation. The Buckeyes take over at their own 42.

After a Gilmer timeout, Gilmer comes out on a swinging gate an tosses over to Chase Tate for an easy first down to catch the Eagles out of position. First down on the Eagle 26.

Good pressure on 3rd down but Tanner Barr makes a play and finds to Chris Boyd wide open in the end zone for another TD. PAT hits the upright.

Eagles going for it on 4th down there and didn't make it. Good field position and a swinging gate on 3rd set up that score as Barr made a play to connect with Boyd for that pass . Argyle will have to do more from here on out. Gilmer's D has stopped Argyle when needed.

Tanner Barr making the zone reads and also passing the ball is the difference maker in this game, whether he keeps it or hands it off to Chris Boyd. Boyzuick for Argyle has missed all nite long with overthrows on his recievers. Argyle has moved the ball between the 20's but have been either stopped, or made a mistake on several drives. Gilmer has played very mistake free all nite.

We are deep in the 4th quarter now as Gilmer is leading 27-14. Gilmer will go for it on 4th and 7 to retain possession.

Gilmer is at the Argyle 16 yd line and throws for a TD at the pylon. Nobody near in the coverage as a mixup in the secondary. Conner Wilson is greatly missed here, obviously.

That's the nail in the coffin there folks. It's all but over now. Good game by the Gilmer Buckeyes. Argyle was not sharp but still had a good season.

Well I got one right, After going against the Buckeyes twice in district, they made a believer out of me. The Buckeyes are on a mission, the coaches have these young men convinced they can play with and beat anybody they face as long as they carry out the game plan.
Great game Buckeyes and it is not over. I hate that the Buckeys have to play another team from the East, but that is what happens when three teams from the same district (EAST TEXAS) are playing four rounds deep. Good luck and God Bless.
East Texas will be well repersented next week in 3A football. Kilgore, Gilmer, Henderson, and Carthage. I love me some East Texas football.
