I wasn't there but it sounded like it was going both ways and generally speaking thats usually how those types of things go...rarely are there perfect angels on the football field...listening to a neutral crew it sounded like both sides were being "chippy"

first off...a football field with out a track around it..is GREATNESS!! and as fans you see a lot of the jawing and extra-curricular up close and personal..i saw "chippiness" from both sides..but to be fair..#23 and some other stalwart players for Kennedale played with class and respect as did most of the Stephenville players..#88 for the jackets just played with a great attitude..he looked genuinly excited to play football to me..nothing disrespectful..and of course #1 and #2 were pretty much all business

I saw Kennedale last year get thumped worse against their biggest rival in Alvarado and I cant remember off the top of my head anything happening outside the norm of football

I have seen the Ville multiple times now and they do for right or wrong celebrate at times like a pro team with standing over a tackled player and doing things like the Clay Mathews celebration and such...now in the other games they were relatively close so for the most part the opposing team did not respond because frustration had not set in.

Today from the first snap there was always a little bit of pushing or talking..I think both teams were trying to intimidate and show dominance..but nothing big was happening...but the Ville did a couple of times on big defensive plays celebrate over the opponent...now was it meant that way, who knows, but still standing over an opponent looking down and celebrating is considered taunting..and the refs as the Ville coach stated lost control early...of the three teams on the field it seems the only team truly intimidated was the zebra crew..I felt if they had thrown a couple flags early on both teams things might not have got so testy in the 2nd half..but in the end Kennedale getting their butt handed to them AND on top of that having a Ville player celebrate over them could not contain their frustration and they got stupid...so IMO both sides helped create that...As I said Ville playes with a swagger..nothing wrong with that..they sometimes walk that edge..nothing wrong with that..but they have to expect at times the opponent will react at some point and that does not make the opponent a dirty team..it makes them a team that does something stupid in the heat of the moment..and hey maybe that is what the Ville wants, get in their head type of deal


Now..on the game..Jones wow..Gunter wow..Westbrook at LB was a STUD....Kennedale coverage..terrible to begin, then they fixed some things but the defender right there to make the play simply would not make a play....LB Wade for Kennedale WOW...dude put laid some wood like the D1 LB he is...the soph RB for Kennedale will be VERY special if he continues the course...once he learns WHEN to make the cuts he makes watch out...I have not seen that type of Barry Sanders esque cuts from a soph RB..his vision was amazing

So recap..Ville good..Kennedale couple of studs not enough...in the end the testy part should be forgotten, you could tell by the way the two coaching staffs talked after game, and how respectful the handshake line was, both teams had cooled down and it was chalked up to that was in the course of a game and no big deal

I had a longer post but decided to sleep on this. I do not feel different than I did but I will leave the subject on this. Kennedale ultimately did nothing to jeopardize the Jackets chances to compete for a state title.
