Looks like Melissa avgs. about 37 pts/game and gives up about 16 pts/game. They tend to balance the offense between the run and pass, averaging about 230 yds/game on the ground and 173 yds/game from the air against their schedule. Argyle has avgd. 44 pts/game and given up about 9 pts/game against their schedule. The Eagles have a 1500+yd. rusher in Soph. Nick Ralston while qb Brandon Boyzuick has also added over 1500+ yds. through the air so far this season. The X-factor for Argyle has been junior wide reciever/return specialist Ian Sadler. He pretty much is good for scoring at least 2 TD's per game one way or another. Short fields from turnovers, long returns, and field position given by the defense has helped Argyle this season to keep opponents from scoring like they normally do. This will be a key to this game as well. With Cole Hedland in only his junior year, the kicking game for the Eagles is also an advantage. I don't have all the stats at hand for the Eagles or the Cardinals to compare the teams. Looks like it will be a game worth watching, though. The Cardinals are the defending Class 2A DI State Champion from last year, so playoff ball for them is nothing new. Argyle is looking for a repeat trip to the SC title game again this season, but has a tough road in Region 2 Div. II starting with this game Friday at 2:00 pm at C.H. Collins Stadium in Denton. Good luck to both teams. I wish I could be there.

If Argyle takes care of the ball and doesn't turn it over, I see them in the DII SC game. I think they are a really good, balanced team that can score of anybody and keep anybody from scoring that many on them. Argyle by 10 in this one.

Sadler is a stud. We didn't get to see much of him last year. Which is probably a good thing, at least for Wimberley.
