Regardless of playoff berth or not, what team gets your vote for most improved in 2012. Who did you watch this year that showed massive improvement and shows great promise in years to come. I am bias, but I will cast my vote for my Sweetwater Mustangs. Definitely heading in the right direction

I haven't seen Gatesville, but they they must be pretty salty. 10-0, victory over LaVega, and undefeated in 8-3A. I would definitely say they are much improved!!!!

How good was Glen Rose last year?

Just going by teams I've seen I'll have to vote for Sweetwater as well..

Even though the score didn't reflect it, they didn't exactly get blown off the field by the #2 team last Friday. They held our running game in check early on, and they now have a legitimate passing game. Even with various injuries, our DB's are the best overall group we've had in years and can make some pretty good QB/receiver combos look bad...Sweetwater will be back with a vengence next year and can't be overlooked on the schedule.

Nah, it's me, GrTigers. It's just so much fun to see P4S and some of the 3ADL ladies posting more often---believe me they can handle anything me and pancho can hand out with one hand tied behind their backs...:D

Gonzales was undefeated last year headed into the playoffs, and this year sputtered and missed them.

And how were they before the last 2 seasons? Technically, you are correct---they did not improve in 2012--and that was the subject of the thread. I was just noting them in general because it does look like they are turning things around over the last 2 seasons.

I'll have to give both Vernon and Gainesville the nod in North Texas for really turning this season into a special one. Congrats to both teams.

Also lost to Cuero by at least 20 and lost to Smithville in District, I would say GZ took a step backwards just like Giddings.

Glen Rose , last year 6-6 scrambling for a win each week and this year won 9 games pretty handily. Can't wait to see what they do in playoffs!

Knowing the situation, let me say this- was 2012 season as good as 2011? Obviously not. Keep this in my though. Current coach inherited a 1-9 team in 2010 and went 7-3. Then 11-1 in 2011 breaking a few school records along the way. Went 6-4 this year losing by 1 twice and by 2 points in week 10. GZ had to replace 8 defensive starters from a year ago and 3 all-state players and a senior class that was very very good. They lost their all-state safety for the last 2 games this year and he is tremendous. In week 10, lost 3 2 way starters in 1st half. not making excuses, just explaining what transpired this year at the end of season. Don't think our program is going backwards. Cuero was the only bad game we played this year and the score indicated that.Just my opinion on a few comments that were made.
