I am gonna take the lazy way out and say that the score will be in the vicinity of 34-28. With either team being able to pull it out. I believe this will be one of those games that it will come down to the last drive and whoever has the ball last will be in position to win or run out the clock.

We all feel bad for him. There were plenty of other chances tho. Fumbled on the previous drive when we were churning up yards inside the gv 30. Back to back defensive stops squandered. I know I am a homer but we had this game. Gv qb is really good. Best touch passer on the long ball I have seen this year. Refs blew that second TD bad. Ref was right there and let the push off go. Gv will be in the region final with a great shot to make the semis. I'll have to root for glen rose if they are there tho. Otherwise I am a gv fan the rest of the way.

I think your assessment of the matchup was pretty accurate. I was surprised how many times we let receivers get behind us for the big play. That was basically the difference in the game. Gatesville big plays to Alvarado pound and ground drives. Woulda shoulda coulda. This one will hurt for a while.

This was truly a great game. Two contrasting styles of offense that were both efficient tonight. Alvarado was led by Hardy, which had an outstanding evening. For most of the game, Gatesville really did not have any answers for the Indian rushing attack. Up the middle, sweep left, sweep right. You have to give a lot of credit the Alvarado offensive line...they also fared well in this game. Edmiston for Gatesville was the difference maker in this game. There were some plays where you thought he was going to be sacked, and then he would elude tacklers and then either scramble or find a receiver down-field. The big play capability from Edmiston to his receivers was also a huge factor in this game....including the one that ended up winning the game after the TO on downs. Congrats to Alvarado on a fine season. Gatesville was impressive tonight. I will be interested to see how far they can go this year.

A very quality qb in the spread can be a difference maker in a tight game if he can keep plays alive and hit recievers on the run. Eventually, he'll make a big play in the game or hit a quick strike shot that catches even very good defenses in the wrong position....given enough chances. It's just hard to keep a good man down the whole game, period(so to speak). I'm sure that Alvarado matched up as well as any team Gatesville has played this season defensively, but a mistake here or a call there can make a big difference in a tight close game like this. Congrats to Gatesville for advancing to the next round against a very quality team, and congrats to the Indians for playing a very competitive schedule and doing well this season again. Everybody knows things just have to go your way sometimes to keep playing when you are against stiff competition. I think most people will agree this Alvarado team can hang their heads high for the quality football they played this season.

I like to stay positive, and there is lots of positive for Alvarado next year...we return atleast 9 defensive starters not counting rotation players..JV was 10-0 dist.champs and some talented freshman coming up, so it's all good..going to enjoy watching the playoffs shake out this year..should be fun.

Eventually, he'll make a big play in the game or hit a quick strike shot that catches even very good defenses in the wrong position....given enough chances. It's just hard to keep a good man down the whole game, period(so to speak). I'm sure that Alvarado matched up as well as any team Gatesville has played this season defensively, but a mistake here or a call there can make a big difference in a tight close game like this. Congrats to Gatesville for advancing to the next round against a very quality team, and congrats to the Indians for playing a very competitive schedule and doing well this season again. Everybody knows things just have to go your way sometimes to keep playing when you are against stiff competition. I think most people will agree this Alvarado team can hang their heads high for the quality football they played this season.

Very good assessment Regal. Gv qb threw at least two Tds after avoiding massive pressure from our d. Definitely was the difference. Alvarado was in every game we lost. In the end we just could not contain the pass and that was our Achilles heel. The offense for Alvarado was a machine last night and the only thing that stopped us was our own mistakes

I like to stay positive, and there is lots of positive for Alvarado next year...we return atleast 9 defensive starters not counting rotation players..JV was 10-0 dist.champs and some talented freshman coming up, so it's all good..going to enjoy watching the playoffs shake out this year..should be fun.

Was there any reason why #11 wasn't back deep to receive those last 2 kicks. It seems like he would have been the best option to get a quick score from back deep but he was nowhere to be found. Did he get injured or was it maybe a little attitude? Just wondering.

Did'nt even notice. The small #26 was the sophomore that was brought up from the JV. I think he was actually our fastest player. I know 11 ran along way on that last GV td and dove at the end. Not sure if he was hurt or just winded. All I know is he put some pretty big hits on defense all night. Coach Dixon does not play many players both ways. Many have questioned why he was not used more on offense but I have to go with his experience. He has the skins on the wall. I am sure the quick 14 points in less 20 seconds would rattle a lot of players realizing their season was over. Other than the last 5 minutes, it was a heck of a game.
