I'm not sure what to expect out of Gatesville. Good win over LaVega but I'm not sold on how good they are. Brownwood needs this win, even more so than the LHill win for confidence heading into playoffs.

I'll bet them Hornets will be buzzing all over the field come Friday nite. How long has it been for them since they had an undefeated season to win a district title? I look for them to be loaded for bear(or Lionmeat) to win this game. Haven't seen anything on either team....I realize BW is improving weekly....but something just tells me that this Gatesville group is for real. They've beat everybody on their schedule so far.....that's a big plus for confidence. Looks like BW's 3 losses were all to good teams, though. This looks to be a really good game to go watch. I'll betcha it's gonna be close. Gatesville keeps their record unblemished and somehow wins this one over a good BW team. That's my pick.

Atmosphere will be big no doubt. Should be a great crowd! I'm thinking about making this game. Ville plays Hillsboro. That will be a slaughter.

Brownwood is picking up steam. With the coaches they have on staff, it's not surprising to me. I knew with the raw talent they had in the start, they'd be able to make it come together in good timing.

At least since 2004. Lost to China Spring every year until 2011.

I don't have anything to base this one other than gut feeling but I feel that Bwood has figured it out. That's a good coaching staff over there and sometimes it takes more than a few games to find the identity of a team. Every year some team that struggles early on puts it together, gets hot, and makes a surprising run. The 2012 Lions might just be that team. Bwood by one possession.

Being the homer I am I have to go with Gatesville in a close one for District Championship. Gville has not had an undefeated team this far into the season since 2000, our State Championship year. The Hornets will be ready for Brownwood and know it will be a tough game, the toughest for them since the 2OT win over LaVega earlier this year.

Gatesville will be up for the game, as Brownwood has OWNED us in non-district play for the last two years! It should be a fun night and we know Brownwood will be bringing the town with them!

I am pulling for Brownwood more because we have not contained a good spread offense this year. Looking at the Gatesville QB stats, that might not be a good match up for Alvarado. And thats not to say Brownwood would be a push over. Alvarado will matchup well with anyone depending heavily on the run with an average passing attack.

Burnet and Lampasas are both larger than Bwood. Lamp will not make the playoffs but Burnet's win win over Liberty Hill last Friday put them in the driver seat for the 3rd spot in 8-3A. If Burnet beats Llano this Friday they will pretty much lock up that spot and go D1

I think the Wood will take this one. I watched some game film on Gatesville and we played BWood. I think BWood's front defensive line is going to play havoc with Gatesville's offense. It will be close, but I'm taking Bwood by a TD.

Congratulations to the Hornet Volleyball ladies, Area Champs with 4 set win over Vernon.....moves record to 35-3 and to face Stephenville - Kennedale winner next week in Regional QuarterFinals!

I think this game is pretty even on paper, however, if this is being played in Gatesville, I give the Hornets the win. There is something in the air at that place that lights up the fires in the Hornets. They are always a team that is hard to beat there.
