Choosing Texas Tech over Notre Dame! Tst! Tst! When it comes to Notre Dame the distance should not be important! Notre Dame should be everyone's first choice. The second choice should be the University of Hawaii! I could have a lot of fun in Hawaii attending there on a four year scholarship! :)

Heres what I understand is the problem with Hawaii.....travel. Christmas holidays....staying in Hawaii...summer break...staying in Hawaii...the school can't fly you back and forth over semester breaks and not many people can afford to be flying back and forth!!!! I could be wrong

Bulldogs are coming off a big win over Hallettsville and Brahmas are coming of a 27-7 win over Houston Christian after losing to Stafford two weeks ago.
I see Yoakum as a clear cut winner as East Bernard is still in the rebuilding mode after losing so many players to graduation. The Brahmas are stout on defense though

I think this will be our toughest game to date watching both EB games. Well coached team. Their offense will give us some issues at first I think. They run that scheme pretty well. Backs run hard, and good YAC. We better do our assignment, and not freelance. Fire off low. You'll not know who has the ball. Smack them all as they come up in the hole. Better fly to the ball. They are good not going down on first or second contact.

I think we can wear them down late with our ability to always have fresh backs in there. Between the tackles production should be there, which will open up a few deep balls. It will be a close game. EB is a solid team.

I'll take Yoakum by two touchdowns.

Senior leadership and confidence for the team from these two good early-season whacks will propel the Bulldogs in this one....even against a team with the credentials of an East Bernard. They should be a greater test than Halletsville was for the coaches and players.

See scoop. Here is your original poll for this game. Leave this one up. And, delete the other.

Stop with the duplicate threads whoever is doing that

There did that work?

Thanks WO and OG. Scoop will not have a clue the issue he caused in the morning by making duplicate polls. :vrycnfsd:

SCOOP, WHEN YOU DON'T SEE YOUR ORIGINAL POLL ON PAGE 1, LOOK ON PAGE 2 OR 3 OF THREADS IN THE FORUM.

Hopefully having a new coach, that coached for the school (Liberty Hill) that master's the slot T, will help here in slowing it down?

I created the thread and poll and didn't see the one you created-I don't know how to edit or delete a thread

I didn't create one. You had created two scoop, for this matchup.

WOS87 and Old Green (site moderators) fixed it and deleted your second poll. What happens, when you don't see your original poll on page 1 (cause it has been bumped to page 2 of thread's due to inactive, or newer threads being created) you either forget you had already created one, or think they deleted it, and you make another. You've done this a couple times already. LOL. It's all good. Just look on page two before making a poll, and see if you already made one, for the game you want a poll on.

Do Bulldog fans follow the team well? East Bernard is quite a haul. There are no bad seats in this old stadium which has no track around it. I'm sure the Brahmas side will be full since it's their first home game

Not that good.

My prediction:

Yoakum 33
EB 14

Some issues early, with EB quickness and cut blocks (our JV just can't resemble that) on line and running that slot T. Then, we get things figured out. Former Liberty Hill coach's assistance about slot T, a big bonus. I don't see any let down following rival game with Hallettsville. Have not heard a peep about that game. Our depth at RB and having fresh back's late, will take toll.

Don't see the Brahma defense giving up 33 points- See a 21-7 or 21-14 game. Bulldogs can maybe score more by throwing the ball more as Stafford and Houston Christian had success. EB rush defense is pretty stout

Ykm JV no luck in stopping the slot T, as EB won, 40-36. I hate to face this type of offense. LOL. Love to watch it, just not against us.

Wow can't believe the Brahmas won by three touchdowns 27-7 and the Brahma defense held the Bulldogs to 123 yards

EB ran slot T near perfect tonite and keep ball most of game. Played great defense and keep the daws from making big plays

Hope Hights injury was not serious. Left late in 3 Qt. with what look like a sore neck.
EB had only 5 Srs. Looks like loaded for yrs again.

Tough lose for the Bulldogs but they will bounce back.

Deep down I feared this was going to happen. EB run's that offense very well. Plus, you have to be disciplined defending it. Low man win's at LOS. Corn fed kid's can block up front. Yes, I had my homer prediction for a big win, but--worried all week trying to stop the slot-T. Was surprised we could not do nothing on the "O" side though.

O'well. Time to get ready for the next one. Congrats EB on the win. They'll be a deep playoff team once again IMO.

Nothing wrong with a non-dist. lost to quality teams. Kids learn from it and move on. Don't think they see Slot T again. It's tough when a team executes it like EB did. Evidently Bellville did same to Giddings with Slot T.

East Bernard’s Korren Robinson rushed for 142 yards on 12 carries and scored three touchdowns, while the Brahma defense held Yoakum to 125 yards total offense as East Bernard won its home opener, 27-7, on Friday night at Memorial Stadium.

The win improved East Bernard’s record to 2-1 for the season.

Allen Anderson opened scoring for the Brahmas in the first quarter on a 5-yard run. The kick failed, but East Bernard had a 6-0 lead with 6:12 left in the first quarter.

The two teams slugged it out defensively for the rest of the first half, and East Bernard held on to a 6-0 lead at the half.

On the first play of the third quarter, Tyler Vasult recovered a fumble for East Bernard at the Yoakum 24-yard line to set up the Brahmas’ next score.

From the 7, Robinson took it in with 9:50 left in the third quarter. Anderson ran in the 2-point conversion, and East Bernard had a 14-0 lead.

Yoakum responded with a touchdown, as Devontay Mathis scored on a 2-yard run. Edgar Maravilla made the extra point, and Yoakum cut the lead to 14-7 with 6:37 left in the third quarter.

In the fourth quarter, Blake Whitley threw a 36-yard pass to Jarred Rejsek to the Yoakum 30, setting up Robinson’s 16-yard touchdown run with 7:14 left in the game. Kyle Socha added the PAT for a 21-7 East Bernard lead.

Late in the game, Whitley got his second interception of the night at the Yoakum 9.

That was followed by a 91-yard touchdown by Robison with 1:39 left in the game. The kick failed, leaving the score at 27-7 in East Bernard’s favor.

Besides Robinson’s 142 yards, Charles Chapman had 82 yards on 18 carries, while Andeson added 45 yards rushing on seven carries.

The Brahmas had 347 yards total offense, which included 300 on the ground and 47 passing. Yoakum was held to 82 yards rushing and 43 yards passing.

East Bernard played almost an error free game with no turnovers and only four penalties for 45 yards.

Yoakum had four turnovers — two fumbles and two interceptions.

The Brahmas play their second home game in a row next week when they host Schulenburg at 7:30 p.m. next Friday at Memorial Stadium.
