I know Wylie is undefeated, but I am wondering how good they are. Are they the Wylie of old, or have they just not played a daunting schedule? Just curious and I mean nothing by this. There is just not a lot of chatter about them even though they haven't lost. I always enjoyed playing those guys. I know they get picked on some on this board, but they really have a classy program.

I have had two people whose football opinion I value say this is the best Wylie team since their last state finals appearance. Their best win is over Argyle in week 0.

I wouldn't call the win over Argyle in Week 0 that great. We were absolutely horrible, had a brand spanking new qb that didn't even participate in 7 on 7 this summer, and Sadler only had 3 touches the whole game....partly because the coaches wanted him to start out slow from his knee surgery. I'd say right now they would have plenty of trouble beating us again. Personally, I like the way the Glen Rose team is structured. Glen Rose vs. Wylie this time of year should settle who's really better. IMO, both teams are really good...just don't know about the matchup. Obviously, GR matched up well against Stephenville, as the Yellowjacket faithful can attest.

I will partially agree with you in that I think Week 0 games probably don't give a true picture of a team's capabilities. However, both teams were getting their feet wet that week. Both teams had QBs throwing their very first varsity passes, etc. Both teams had issues with cramping, etc...so that's all kind of a wash. I also feel confident that both teams have improved in the subsequent weeks. I think a rematch would be a great game...but of course I will go with the Bulldogs.

Hmmm... interesting comments on our team. Right now? We probably are the 3rd or 4th best team in the region. The first 4-5 weeks? Probably a half-hotch below S'Ville. 2 weeks from now? Right back where we were previously. We have been hit hard by the injury bug. Using our 4th option at tailback, starting WR/PK out, etc. All should be back to full speed over the next 2-3 weeks. As for our overall team strength--it's all about the trenches. This may be the best O-line we've ever had--big, physical with a bit of a mean streak. Look for a major rebound as we get healthy... as for Argyle? Would love to play them again. Would likely be a tighter game--but same result, Wylie victory.

Probably no more blowout wins through the rest of district....and possibly ripe for upset.

Having said that, yes I can safely say this team is the Wylie of old....and possibly a little better in some ways than the good teams of the first decade of the 21st century. The question is if they will have the same success..but they have the same confidence and winning mentality.

I would say Wylie more like the team when we played you at Birdville instead of SMU. Good overall team speed. If we lose, it will be a close game.
