The initial MaxPreps Medium School National Football Rankings feature six teams from California, but the No. 1 team hails from a different part of the Farwest.

Bellevue (Wash.) is the top team in the rankings, which are based on the MaxPreps Freeman Computer Rankings, and holds the edge over Washington (Miami). Stephenville, the top team in Texas, is No. 3 while Edison (Huntington Beach, Calif.), California's top entry, comes in at No. 4.
