Ingleside played very well on both sides of the ball to start the district opener. West Oso has some speed. This is going to be an interesting matchup. Thoughts?

West Oso always has some speed but always seem to have a discipline problem. Padilla has Ingleside as a 30 pt. favorite. Realistically I think 2-3 tds in more like it.

Ingleside can't afford to take anyone lightly cause as sure as they do, they will get bit. I really want to go see the Sinton and OG game, but don't want to miss Ingleside and Oso you never know what might happen.

This is the game that Marquise got hurt in last year. I think it was becuase of the lack of discipline that you mentioned M69.

Yes. What I heard was that the WO players were stomping on his foot every chance they got.

If you can't beat them stomp on their feet....very sad if this is true!! :( Ingleside needs to stay focused.

I think they will be focused. Marquise probably will be real focused for this game.

Does anyone know if West Oso is back to having those 6 or 7 starters that were out come back? At the very beginning of the season they looked good. My guess is that they still have some players out.

:confused:West Oso usually has pretty good size, not sure what they look like this year. A combination of size and speed is always dangerous.

Most of the teams Ingleside has played this year have been bigger. I don't think that is a big factor. West Oso seems to have a lot of speed ebery yearand that could be a factor if the Mustangs aren't ready.

Ain't that the truth, we have been outsized in almost every game this season. We lost a lot of size to graduation, not on the line though.

Mustangs by 21+..if Oso has speed that wont matter all that much bc you gotta have skill to go with it.

That and discipline. What I like about this years team is the defense seems to be swarming to the ball much quicker. That may carry them much further this year.

You are right. The defense is much more aggressive than in years past. There is a lot less arm tackling also. I think this is one of the Mustangs better defenses compared to the past years despite the lack of size. There is more quickness and hard hitting.

Basics will win you games. Execute the game plan, know ur assignments and make tackles , oh yeah and score points. Lol don't overlook any team.

Last year the WO coach was quoted as saying he wasn't worried about Ingleside. He knew how to stop the Mustang offense.(I think he was the defensive coach at Sweeney when they beat Ingleside in the playoffs the year before.) Ingleside scored over 40 pts against WO. Not sure of the exact #. This week he has not been quoted by the newspaper. I guess he learned his lesson.

Making statements like he did almost always come back to bite you in the butt. If he makes them this year I bet he makes sure there are not any reporters around.:)

It is one thing to tell the kids, which I would expect, but to say to a reporter is not something I would do. Maybe some don't believe in being PC, but like you said it could come back to bite you. Who knows it could give the opposing team more motiviation to take it to you.

Thaty's correct. If I remember correctly our starters stayed in a little longer than normal in that game. Paybacks are hell sometimes.

If you ever get chance to see the 3a D2 state championship last year, note the lg size of Argyles line verses ours. Quick, strong and well coached players trump every time.

I will try and find that, fsn always plays those state championship games.... Ingleside has always had to rely on speed, and trying to get the play makers the ball in open space.

Yeah Ingleside has always had talent but never had the right coach, I think coach Hesseltine's system is the right fit for us.

Good to see Barajas throw for 266 yards and 5 TD's. Marquise had a good night as well. Overall team effort on both sides of the ball. Ingleside's D held the leading local 3A rusher to just 23 yards.
