La Vega by 14. La Vega's run attack will be too much for CS and they are reeling from back to back losses.

Not sure CS has enough offense to offset LaVega's style. I thought so earlier in the year, but now I'm no longer on their bandwagon. Just don't see them lighting up the scoreboard like I thought they would be doing by now. Wasn't this the team with so many returning as Srs. this year? What happened? You either win games against good competition because you do have a seasoned good team, or you don't. If they beat LV this week, that will get my attention.

Averaging 41 Points a game. In losses, matched Glen Rose TD for TD and forced 5 turnovers. Gave up only 7 points in the second half to Alvarado with half the starting Defense sitting on the bench. I like the Cougars chances.

the CS QB seems more effective on the quik hit short/medium passes to me, feels the rush on straight drop backs..the RB hits the edges like a freight train, scarey good on the stretch plays..if they play patient on offense and pick their spots on going over the top..CS wins this game by 14...if it turns into a shoot out, could go either way.

If China Spring wins this game, I will have a different opinion of Stephenville's win over LV. Early this season, I thought CS would be a very formidable team for anybody in 3A to have on their schedule. They had so many starters returning from a good team. Maybe they still are formidable, even with the 2 losses. It has happened that way before with some teams in years past(Carthage 2010). It ain't over til the fat lady sings, and the music just started. I'm gonna call this one a toss-up for now. Let's give CS this game to prove their mettle.

CS beat Mexia by 49 and LaVega beat Mexia by 47. My thoughts - Mexia is not very good.

I agree with your analogy - Mexia is terrible.

Not sure what to think about this one. La Vega performed at a higher level than I thought they would vs Stephenville. Homecoming and top 10 big game atmosphere had something to do with that.

With the recent losses, they will likely be in a "something to prove " mind set.

Toss up

La Vega is a good team. China Springs should still make the playoffs. They played both Alvarado and Glen Rose tough and had a shot in both games. Seeing how Glen Rose played Stephenville tonight just goes to show how good all these teams are.

Very frustrating loss again. Plenty of oppertunities to score ( poor execusion, dropped wide open passes ect.). It started out looking bad for the Cougs. Lavega is their normal "pound it" self with JT tunnel sweep with a BIG line and a very fast QB. They are not as good through the air this year. Very one dimensional. Once again, defense made adjustments at halftime, as in Alvarado game, and stuffed them in the second half allowing the cougs to climb back and fighting to tie the game in the final minutes. LV's last TD was a interception return with 38 seconds left. It was the usual CS vs LV football game; hard fought to the last seconds of the game by both teams.
