At work Friday, I was going to open a quote on my thumb drive and everything was gone. Is there any way to recover data from a USB flash drive?

I sure don't think so. A USB drive is essentially RAM with no backup. Someone may know something that I don't but I imagine your information is gone.

I've been running a recovery program for over 4 hours now. Hopefully it does something

Yeah, unless you formatted it or wrote over the data, you should still be able to get it back.
