If Brownwood does make the playoffs then they get Stephenville in the first round and well...yeah good luck with that.

Burnet is like the guy with a knife at a gun fight. They just don't have the weapons to compete for a playoff spot. They should have beaten Taylor and now they are looking at a 3-7 season. (if they can beat Lampasas or Llano).

I think this game should be billed as "under construction." Think Brownwood will win, but should be a competative game. Both teams are in a rebuilding year.

What does Brownwood and Burnet bring to this weeks match up?

Not likely.. burnet is struggling. Not sure whats going on in Burnet, i know they have better athletes than what they have been fielding the last couple of years..

Strange opening district game. Two teams that each year come out full of piss and vinegar are just coming out kinda feeling for the wall in the dark on their way to the bathroom. :thinking:

Lol, now that's funny. I do think Brownwood will find the way Friday. Get their pride back in order to get a good district opening win to start rolling. Interested to see how this one goes. The team is there!

We also are very young , I think we have 7 Soph's starting and only 10 Sr's on the team so that outta tell you something. I think this game will be closer than most think with BW winning it with better D. Like LHdog said we just dont have any weapons right now. 3-7 or 4-6 looks to be about right. Things will get better in the next few years as the kids learn the system and with larger numbers of kids in the lower ranks.

This Brownwood team reminds me so much of some of the old Freeman teams that would get hot at the right time and make a deep playoff run. I think Brownwood will win.

Lack of speed, youth, and predictable play calling is what's killing Burnet plus not playing 4qtrs of football. Last year at this time we were 3-2 and we were losing 2 starters a game the injury bug continued to haunt us every week also topped with certain skill players crying for the ball instead of just doing their job and playing team ball. I hope Burnet can pull it out but I seriously doubt it, Brownwood should win by @ least 2 scores.

I really don't see Burnet being competitive for four quarters in this one. I heard the big tackle move-in quit the team this week. I don't think he was much of a factor anyway. This one could get ugly. Lions 35-14.
