Something I learned about Monterrey Tech... They take different groups of players week to week. We could have seen their best in week 0, and a different team the next 3 weeks. Who knows, but one things I do know is today's Stephenville team is better because of it. ;)

actually, they sent their intermediate team(7th & 8th in Texas speak) in week 0..

The Jackets are what we all believed them to be--a pretty darned good football team. I think they will be a challenger for the SC, but they will find out that the upper level 3A teams are as good as most 4A teams. That being said, I expect them to be in the SC game.

Wow, that sounds like a pretty lame excuse, like the initial post game talk about how MT had all these 19-20 year old 5th year seniors, (which turned out not to be true) after other Stephenville posters had already talked about how great it worked out that they held their own kids back in school to give them an advantage. If MT takes different kids on the road week to week, it is probably not their core players, but their back up kids.

What I heard through the grapevine was that the Stephenville coaches thought the preseason #1 ranking was the primary reason for the flat performance against MT. Plus, in IMO, it is tough for any team to get up for a maybe game, since there was some concern that MT may mnot make it up for the game. Either way, it was a needed wake up call and I was impressed by the turnaround and the win against Aledo the next week.

I hope you roll on and shutdown some of the least Texas annoying chatter.

Monterrey Tech beat San Antonio Wagner last night.
