I tell you guys what IM starting to think its gonna be Sville and Navasota in the d1 title game. Carthage will be in the hunt, but them losing to Jacksonville and Whitehouse makes me think they are not the same Carthage team.

So I caught the 2nd half on the air... Anyone at the game care to share how Amarillo looked? Size, strengths, speed?

After facing La Vega and Amarillo who are both heavy rushing teams, Stephenville's D faired pretty well against both.

Final 35-14, Stephenville knocks off 2 top 10 4A teams, a quarterfinalist in 4A in 2011 and a top 5 3A team in their predistrict schedule. We are unfortunately winless in international play. Maybe next year.

By and large, there is just not much difference between the power of elite teams in 4A and 3A. The season ending top 5 of 3A should be able to scruff with the best of 4A. 5A is where the jump in depth and across the board talent takes off, with several schools well over 3K in enrollment. Stephenville definitely needs to be in the top 3 if you care about rankings, but they should have no problem getting to the state title game.

that's two top ten 4a teams that they've beaten handily...

there's no way there's a better team in 3a right now than stephenville...

Stephenville is that good. Now, Amarillo did have three starting defensive lineman out on injuries and their star running was also out on injuries, but even with those players, I believe the ville would have still won this game.

Good win for the Jackets. I was skeptically optimistic in this weather, and the Jackets had no problem. Sville dominated at the LOS. But most importantly we came out healthy heading into our bye week. Now we get ready for the 2nd season to start against the undefeated Glen Rose Tigers!
