Edna beats Sweeny (nice new turf in Sweeny) 20 - 16
Sweeny doesn't look to be quite as good as year's past, but they still have the ability to control the line of scrimmage and run the zone read well. This was a big win for Edna.
We were close last week vs Yoakum, but made too many mistakes fumbling at the Yoakum 1 and 10 yard line.
We have a week off and then head into district vs a Hempstead team that totally dismantled Columbia tonight and later on we have Hallettsville and Rice, both victors vs Yoakum, at Yoakum.
Adios to the 3A folks for another year.
Edna enters district play with a 3-2 pre-district record...played defending state 2A champ, three 3A schools and one D1 2A.
All in all a good pre district slate to prepare for a very tough 2A district.
