I know ziltch about Johnson other than being a 5A school.

Laredo LBJ is a good tough 5A school and it should be a great close game. I say Sinton wins 21 to 17.

Sinton averaging 55 points/game at home, should be another good offensive night for the offense.

I agree. I think Sinton walks away with this one. It seems the schools in Laredo just can't put it together.

Don't forget that they did play Gregory-Portland a close game and G-P looks like they are going to be a powerful team this year. Scary times indeed.

Sinton looks to be putting it all together now after thrashing Raymondville. This one might be over by the half as well.

You have to remember that even though we outscored them 55 to 20 in the first half that the second half was extremely close with us winning only by a 7-6 score. Scary times indeed. :(

It's homecoming. It won't surprise me if we aren't "sluggish" in the first half. Raymondville made us look VERY good.

There from Laredo, can't be good. That's about all you need. Sinton big here.

Here's some info on them:

Appears they favor running the rock.

I believe their record is 1-2. They beat Uvalde 21-6 their last game. Pretty much a rushing team. QB(Garay) ran for 151 yds and RB(Gonzalez) ran for 152 yds.

Stats against Uvalde

Passing- 5/10 59yds
Rushing- 49 attempts 342 yds.

Hope this helps.

I hope it's a clean and injury-free game. Remember the last time Sinton played a 5A team? Our guys were dropping like flies all over the field to injury. Maybe Phil can help me on this?
Good luck to both teams!

It will be an interesting game. I haven't been real happy with how many yards we tend to give up. Defense needs to work out the kinks before district begins. I think OG will be our toughest games followed, of course, by Ingleside.

Sinton has had a hard time stopping the run. The D has gotten better but even Raymondville moved the ball.
Now the Sinton offense can score from anywhere and looked fantastic last week.

LBJ better have their track shoes on!!!!!!

I don't like playing teams out of our class. I don't know about 5A but we did play a few games with Gregory-Portland when they were 4A and even though we were competitive we had too many injuries in those games that hurt us later in the year. I would rather travel to the valley and play teams in our class than local 4A or 5A schools.

That is why I can't blame teams when they dropped in class for droping us from their schedule (Taft, Odem, Mathis, Aransas Pass) even after many long years in our class and long rivalries.

Yep, I think we are the only team in our district playing all 3A-5A schools. Everyone else has had a couple of 2A schools in their lineup. We scrimmaged Beeville and Ray, played T-M and Miller..all 4a schools, and now a 5A LBJ. I had to chuckle when the news would talk about what a great start such and such team was off to...how do you really know if your games were played down? It's not like they're all at Refugio's caliber. Having said that, injuries are a constant concern when playing up.

Ingleside was on that list of playing down this year to start the first three weeks. I think overall the schedule was meant to be tougher and I think it has been. In the past TM hasn't traditionally been good and when they were supposed to be decent they still lost and not by a close margin. Same thing goes for Milller, which you guys didn't play Miller this year. I can understand why some of the 2A's get that chip on their shoulder when they are told that they can't compete with 3A or even some 4A's. Refugio proved it this year again and has done it in the past so that was not a big suprise and even though GW lost they played much better than most 3A's in our area. Looking across the board in our district, R-F has had the toughest schedule out of all of the teams, but they have had so many injuries the last three seasons this one being the worst.

Refugio used to play Sinton every year and even though Refugio won consistently the games were hard fought and they got costly injuries that hurt their season so they dropped us. I hope we don't give them a second chance.

Series is even since the '80's.

Sinton still not 100% healthy. Yoakum game there was 10 players out. Rh game half of that and last game think it was only 3.

Hopefully injury free game this Friday. And get ready to coral some Mustangs in couple of weeks :)

We topped ya'll by one. We had 11 out when ya'll came to town. Been a brutal year for injury's here. Just lost another for the year, and a good chance his senior season is gone as well. Rest appears being ready for district opener in 2 weeks.

Sinton once again played without rb Keith Garcia in this game and he's also a shut down cornerback. 2 weeks to rest him for district play.

1440 am the benchwarmers got some bad info as he kept saying Sinton hammered LBJ with Keith Garcia :)

Defense showed some promise in this game but a few breakdowns still lead to LBJ scores.

BRING ON THE MUSTANGS! :)

Yep, I know it happens all over the state, that's why I said " in our district". I think it's taking a huge risk with your team. LBJ has over 3,000 kids in their school. Sinton has over 5,000 in our whole town! Lol!
