I did not see the game or listen, but I would like to congratulate Ville on a great win. LaVega has a reputation for always being tough and never giving up. This win speaks loud and clear on what kind of team the Ville has. With that said, don't be shocked if LaVega goes very deep in the playoffs.

Well, I called for a 3 TD difference but was a little short @ 35-14. Kinda figured the Yellowjackets had a little more than this LaVega team. Got close there in what....middle of the 3rd? A mistake here, a defensive play on the punt there, and who knows....mighta been a nailbiter. I guess Stephenville feels better now, but there are a few teams out there in 3A that will improve upward as the season progresses moreso than the Yellowjackets will. They are already playing at a 80-85% capablility, and some of the teams that could compete will rise to their capabilities by playoff time. Just a cookie to munch on.

Good showing for Stephenville against a dangerous La Vaga team. For those that were there to see how dangerous La Vega is, they had 3-4 very fast and lethal players including the QB that could take it to the house on any given play. No question they were going to be good, but I was impressed. Well coached and their defense was stout. To start the 2nd half, it looked like Stephenville was going to run away with it. Stephenville received the kickoff and offense came out at a higher tempo and marched right down to score on the opening drive. La Vega countered and it was a ball game. Stephenville's D was the difference. Caused 2 turnovers that led to 2 scores for the Jackets. Props to La Vega for never giving up!

Couple cheap TDs by Stephenville made the spread a little more.

From what ive read, doesnt sound like there was a 3 TD difference between the 2 teams.

Congrats to the ville on a quality win tonight. LV is a really good team.

Could have been a 1 TD difference or a 4 TD difference. There were a few plays on each side of the ball that could have swung it. But, there was definitely a 3td difference. We left some points on the board and had a few miscues on D. Had a 3 year starter on D (@ CB) out due to illness.

The Ville D stepped up in the 4th quarter and put the game out of reach.

LaVega had a great running QB and RB duo and their line blocked well. They fought hard to the end. We just have to put together a complete game and play all 4 quarters. The 3rd quarter nearly cost us... Back to work.

Those last 2 were hard fought, back breaking, a$$ kicking touchdowns. Nothing "Cheap" about them.

Hey, it was a quality win against a very formidable opponent....end of story. Stephenville made the stops and converted when they needed to....that's called a good team effort. Congrats to the Yellowjackets on this win....some thought or were hoping for a La Vega win in Waco. Just didn't happen, even though La Vega is a very quality team. Now maybe later in the year it could be a different story. No doubt Stephenville is further along with their players at this juncture than most teams. The other teams can catch up, or injuries to key players could happen, or whatever. The season is just now getting good. Stay tuned for next week's action.

Did I miss something that allowed Stephenville to practice more than other 3A teams? Why is Stephenville further along than other teams? Why is attrition a one way street with the Jackets? You boys can rationalize better than the Jacket faithful on a loss to Aledo in the playoffs. La Vega is a good team, if they want another shot at Stephenville they have to be playing week 16. By the way the Jackets left 14 points out on the field, how many did La Vega leave? If we are going to play the what if game lets get all the potential points on our magic scoreboard.

I agree with part of what you said Ben. To guess Stephenville is already playing at 80-85 %?? Wth? Lol.

La Vega is a very good team. Good size, speed speed speed, execute very well and disciplined. Stephenville has every chance to still improve as other teams do. And believe me, they still have work to do!

Thank you LV left some on the board also.

Mine comment was in reference to regal saying that with some breaks it would have been a closer game. My point is if you count La Vega's breaks that did not come true, I think we better count them all.

was a good win for stephenville, they played good.
their passing game hasn't been great in the last 2, they had over 300 vs aledo and under 200 in the last two.

if lavega had a qb that could throw, they would be a threat to make a run, but until then, all teams have to do is concentrate on stopping the run.
wouldn't surprise me if they drop out of the AP top 10.
