Can't believe its Tuesday and no one has started a thread. Yeah, we did get donkey stomped by Wylie but they were a damn good team. Everybody giving up or what? But then again this shouldn't be much of a game if our offense shows up.

Other wise I see out starters only playing 1/2 to 3/4's of the remaining games....I know we risk injuries. But come playoff time the extra reps will payoff...
Maybe im over confident in what we can do but.....its time to open up and see what we can do...

I saw that kid play several games as a freshman and he was good, he is one of the best athletes on the team they cant get him the ball at reciever so they should give him a shot at QB to see what he can do.

5 looks like the fastest kid on the team to me and i only saw him line up at receiver once last week.

Both of those kids looks pretty frustrated last Friday. Especially #5. Maybe Graham isn't running the right offense this year, I've seen them play the last 2 years and it seems like they are still trying to run an offense similiar to what Mccoy introduced there, which is based on having a very good QB. Nothing against the QB's that have followed Case Mccoy but they can't hold his jock strap. A more run based spread offense seems better in my eyes for what they have available. Lots of quality skills position players with very few ways of getting them the ball right now.

Graham has always been like this, to be honest I think McCoy didn't play into it as other coaches have. Granted I do not believe Case was the best QB his freshman year and there was some obvious favoritism, but besides that the best kid played.

We went to the SC game his senior year......did you miss that part. Don't remember his freshman year and he probably dosen't either.

Ya Graham has a tendency to do the 1 and done. We have done it the last 2 years, kind of reminds me of the Bourquin days, win district and then get beat first round.

I couldn't tell you, I have two friends, one had his kid and the other had a brother start on their o-line that year and they both said the RB was a more consistent kicker.

To continue with my thought on the Steers back then McCoy turned out to be a pretty darn good coach after all didn't he Z-RO. He made some decisions that made people glad and mad, kinda like some other coaches do today. You will make about 50% of the people happy all the time. He sat some of his best players that year in 09' for discipline reasons and almost cost him a win but stood his ground and took flack over that. Going back to starting his son as a freshman didn't they go (like someone else brought up) 2 or 3 rounds that year? Then made that run in 09', so that tells me he was a pretty darn good coach ya think..........just saying:thinking:

I agree that their all good athletes as well, I just think they could be used differently for the better of the team come playoffs. The bad part is when you have teams like Breck on the schedule is that we really want learn alot about where were at this week or next more than likely. I wish we were still in a tuff district with the likes of Wylie and other really good teams. Week in and week out you knew how your team was progressing. With our district now, it appears that Vernon is the only team that is decent.

I think Mccoy played a freshman almost every year he was at Graham and when he was at Jim Ned he did the same thing there too. He seemed to play his best players no matter what their age.

It's the hero or zero saga!!! If a coach makes a decision to move players around, I bet at some point he thinks about the ramifications that may follow!!! I bet he knows that winning means "staying". I bet he also knows there will always be 50 % that will be pissed off about something!! The key is keeping the teams best interest at heart and by winning. Politics will mean nothing to a winning coach.

That team never should have lost to Argyle, if they would have had better QB play they would have won that game. I believe that team was just as good as the team that lost state.

No the kid probably didnt say that but if what i was told is true he said that he was going to do whatever it took to help the team that McCoy wanted put on the field. So he was a great team player and did everything that was asked of him to help his team and not be selfish and thinking of his own grandure which is what anyone would expect out of that kid and his family. so as far as i can tell it is people like you that keep things stirred up over things that cannot be changed (in my opinion these are usually the people that are grandstand coaches and referees that dont understand what it takes to do either one but gripe the loudest.
I have not left. But some people dont have electronic devices that get reception all over Young county.

Great post Steve. I hope Graham can find that again. The team I saw against brownwood seemed very tough to beat but once adversity set in against Wylie they seemed to rely on themselves instead of bonding together to face adversity. Sometimes games like this are exactly what a team needs.

I agree that Graham has a lot of very good Athletes on the team but if they are not being play where they should be, they are not playing to the best of there ability. i just think that in non-district the coaches should find out who is the best for each position and who should play where to better the team. I made the trip last week and watched that game and i was wanting to know why #7 and #5 were not on the field more than they were. I'm not saying that Graham would have won the game but i think the odds would have been more in Grahams favor.

Fact of the matter is that the majority of the people on here have been watching this Sr. and Jr. class play since they were freshmen and know how talented they are. Some of the kids are not even getting a shot at positions that they looked incredible at when they were freshmen, and most people don't understand why. I will support this group of kids till the end as will everyone else on here, but damn I just scratch my head sometimes about this team.

First and foremost I think your giving waaaaaaaaaay to much credit to any post you have read on this forum!!! This forum is a sounding board for frustrated parents, football enthusiast and just a few turds that live only to jack other people up!!! Every post should be taken with a grain of salt. Some of the best coaching is done from the stands and if you have been around long enough you know if your winning, life is good!!! If not well....! Every team can be beat, we got beat by Wylie, so what? I think every player is doing a great job, from the QB all the way to the trainers!! Our coaches want to win and have to try a few things before district !! Sit back and enjoy the ride, and DON'T TAKE THIS FORUM PERSONALLY, it's for fun!!!

It is silly that we tend to coach from the sidelines, but in a way it is great to see the passion for our kids that this town(Graham) has! What I would like to see more of regardless of the score is the entire town standing from the kickoff to the whistle and showing other schools just how much we are behind our kids. At the end of the day, we want them to be successful regardless of who is on the field! It is always fun to have bragging rights and a sense of being proud to be from this area. Take Breckenridge out tonight and give 100% on every snap.....as we all know it goes by way too fast!

Well u can forget parents standing for very long in the stands. It has been this way since i was a kid in high school and it will always be that way. When Graham made the run in '09 parents would move from where our group set during that playoff run because we would stand and raise hell the whole game. Heck, I even had a someone behind me that asked me to sit down at a home game last year because they couldnt see and were to lazy to stand and root the boys on.

You guys did an excellent job of standing behind you kids at the game vs Wylie. In fact, some of the fans that were sitting by us were disscusing how Graham fans were louder than ours, which IMO were, our side seem to be sitting and no tpaying much attention to the game.:(

TBD- just so you know, nobody here is a hater, I have 2 kids playing and support Our team, just like I have since I started in the program, most of us were here before you and will be here after you, still supporting this program. As Dad's and fans we certainly have every right to second guess and complain about any decision we don't like. It sure doesn't mean that any coach has to listen to a damn word we say, just our 2 cents, also, if you open any other thread on this silly forum you will see the same thing. As a parent, we all want our kids to be the stars and get the attention; it was no different when I was in school playing sports and my parents felt the same way. It is silly that we tend to coach from the sidelines, but in a way it is great to see the passion for our kids that this town(Graham) has! What I would like to see more of regardless of the score is the entire town standing from the kickoff to the whistle and showing other schools just how much we are behind our kids. At the end of the day, we want them to be successful regardless of who is on the field! It is always fun to have bragging rights and a sense of being proud to be from this area. Take Breckenridge out tonight and give 100% on every snap.....as we all know it goes by way too fast!

Exactly!!!! That's why people on here love to hate Brownwood, because they can lose 6 games in a row and on that 7th game you would think they were superbowl contenders if you read the stuff they post on this site!!! Its called support and passion and their team can feel it to their core!!! A lot of towns and people could learn from them! No fair weather fans there!!!

Thanks for re-affirming my point. We alll second guess and make our coaching decisions based on what we think is best. I tell everyone that im a great coach from the 40 about 17 rows up. I'm sure that none of this staff prepares to lose or fail during any game, still gonna question some of the stuff they do.

Ragin Red I do believe that Graham will be OK for the rest of the REGULAR season, if your just wanting our record to be good it should be, 9-1 is a good record. I'm just saying that I personally think that Graham is not using the talent that they have to make the best team they can. Don't get me wrong Graham has a pretty good team right now, but I think it could be better with some changes. That what these game we are playing is for to make changes and see if we can better the team before we start district and try to make a run in the playoffs

Actually that is probley pretty close. Cross town atmosphere, Breck seems like a down 2A team. Graham should break their hopes quick. I wish coach Freeman luck but I think that buck-a-roo will roll over pretty fast.

I'd like to consider myself a pretty smart guy on occasion. I've watched many kids off this year's Graham team grow up. Mahan, Jones, remember when Reeves moved into town, Walls, just to name a few. Great kids but to say they are the best athletes to come out of Graham I would argue that. And to the poster who said they are better than the best kids off the state team isn't fair. Hiser, Mccoy, Bailey, Allen, Fulford, Harrison twins(awesome to watch) were great players. If i'm not mistaken Mccoy and Allen were both 2 time all state and 4 time all district players. Pretty dang good athletes by my standards.

So you're saying UT is the only school there is for a High School player to go QB at..........I'll have to disagree with you on that. Our QB is a geat kid he has made the most of his oppurtunities he has been given, he helped our 7 on 7 team tremendously by making good decisions on the field.

Ok I'm back. Got some good stuff going on here. I was involved with the 09 group too. No doubt we sent alot of individuals to play college ball that year. But you are missing my point. This group of Athletes as a TEAM are really good. You have to understand the offensive and defensive schemes we run are complex and it takes everyone of them to execute to make it work. Really all you need to win with our offense is 11 average athletes on the field executing and you can't stop it. It's meant to find the holes in a defense not showcase one individual. Bottom line we didn't do that last Friday. That's why I stress the focus of the team effort less Individual play.
