Buckeyes by a bunch. There were better games than this one. Only thing D'field got going for them is little pride and a lot of "home cooking" lol

Gilmer will use this matchup to fine-tune their offensive and defensive schemes against a team they should dominate, but a team that nevertheless has speed and some talented players. Gilmer will be able to open up the playbook a little more in this one, and that could result in a wide margin of victory, or keep the game closer. Just depends on how well the Buckeye offense executes. I feel the Gilmer D will do its job to contain the Dangerfield attack, so I see this game being dictated by how well the Gilmer offense plays. I'll go ahead and pick Gilmer to score about 5 TD's to Dangerfield's 3.

Even though I'm a 1990 grad of DHS and love my Tigers and would love to see them pull off the upset, I think the Buckeyes will win this one hands down, 41-13.

This game will be a little closer than the past few meetings, in my opinion. Gilmer made a huge comeback last week against a pretty stout Jacksonville team, coming back from a 33-14 deficit to win. It seems they finally "woke up", and simply refused to lose two games in a row. If the Buckeyes can execute offensively like their capable of, and play defense the way they started the season, this game could turn into a runaway. The only thing is they haven't proven thus far that they can find that consistency. The offense is starting to open up the playbook a little more each week and should only get better with experience. I'd like to see the Buckeyes finally execute the way they are capable on BOTH sides of the ball in their final tuneup before district play. I think the Buckeyes win this game. By how much doesn't really matter so long as they execute better THROUGHOUT the game. They have yet to put together a complete game, and that's what I would love to see.

Gilmer SHOULD come out on top against Daingerfield. Gilmer hasn't had too much trouble with them lately and I know Daingerfield hasn't forgot the only team to beat them during their back-to-back-to-back championship seasons.

I'll take Gilmer by about 17.

Simmer down now. I graduated from there as well, but I still respect my school. True, times have changed, but there are still some good people there (including my mom, aunt & uncle). And yes, I think the Buckeyes will win tomorrow night, but I would love to see an upset by my Tigers. I know back in the late 80's and 90's, we used to bust them Buckeyes up :).... GO TIGERS!!!!!!!

It is unfair IMO to criticize the Daingerfield-Lone Star residents for the near-extinction of their steel plant. This is what caused the area to "run down." Perhaps it shouldn't have relied on one industry, in retrospect. But it is far from the only place in the U.S. to have been decimated by deindustrialization.

I just looked it up. About 1,000 are employed at US Steel in Lone Star. Thirty years ago when it was called Lone Star Steel, it employed 6,500.
