If it comes to it, I'd rather see the 2nd stringers get some snaps than a high score differential.

This thread is about dead. Columbus has struggled to this point. A close game with Yoakum may be their highlight so far. I hope it stays that way. Would like to see some Giddings 2nd team get in this game.

After watching Giddings at Wimberley I must say I was impressed. If they get in better shape then look out. Great coaching staff with some hard nosed kids.

Columbus has some athlete's on this team, their best RB did not play against us. I think Columbus will keep it close till half but after that it may go down hill, Coach Sines new offense can put points on the board so you never know what might happen with a couple turnovers in Columbus favor.

Is it friday yet? This seems to be a slow week.

Is there a single Cardinal poster on here yet?

How did Lagrange kick the snot out of them?
A.) All muscle and teeth grinding
B.) Turn overs
C.) Homecooked officiating
D.) Perfect execution on O and D.
E.) All of the above

just kidding, but did LG air it out any or pound it out?

LG played a very consistent game on both sides of the football. They made only one big mistake with a bad snap on the only punt attempt in the game for the Leps. That gave the Cards the ball on our own 12 yard line and their only score. The Leps ran the ball very effectively and used short pass routes to keep the chains moving and lbs honest. The defense scored on a pick 6 from mid field with a nice run back from lb #14 Scott. #3 RB Fillmore and #5 Hutchison racked up a lot of yards rushing. Special teams played well except for the muffed punt snap. Overall a well rounded effort by the Leps especially so early in the season. The Cardinals never got any momentum and were back on their heels all night. I think they have more talent then we saw in that game and if they put it together they could catch a good team sleeping and hang an L on them.

Thanks for the overview. Sounds a lot like what Giddings tries to do. It sure is nice outside today, hope tomorrow is more of the same.

Basically what Pud said, the thing about Columbus that will scare you some is the skilled players on offense. They had some dropped balls and open receivers at times that could have made this game much closer then the score, our D did play well with the speed that they have. Not saying they can beat you , I just feel with some costly turnovers by Giddings this is a team that could make you pay. I definitely feel Giddings wins this game but timely turnover could make it closer then it should be, hang on to the ball and the best team will win handily.

Too much talent for Columbus to handle this week. Will take a couple years for new Cardinal coach to get things rolling in Columbus IMO.

Giddings is pretty good. They seem to have a lot of kids playing both ways, even Glenn lined up on the DL. That surprised me.

Have I picked the buffs to win in this one yet, that is my pick.

Here's to it cooling off quick, so I don't have to sit in 88 degrees for a qtr.

Saw in the banner newspaper that the Cards threw the ball 28 times against Rice, comp. 19 for 278 yards. For the season the qb is 70-127 for 774 yds and 4 picks.

Giddings has earned my respect with 3 consecutive tough wins.

I think the Buffs finally get to relax a little tonight. Giddings by 28

Was not a ton! The Cards hung for a while. Was 28-24 at the half Buffs. Final was Buffs 56- Cards 40. Columbus has a good passing attack, but the Buffs have it all.

Damn I thought Columbus would play Giddings tough but to put up 40 points, that's is very interesting.

The passing game is very Good. If not for the loss of their stud running back, Columus would have been the real deal. They will still be strong contenders the rest of the season.

They did not do much against our D, the game could have been much worse then it was.

I guess the Cards picked it up a couple of notches since last week. With them scoring 40 against Giddings it is an accomplishment even if they didn't get the win.

They were on their game tonight. That was the best qb we have seen yet and he had plenty of athletes that could catch the ball. We had them covered most of the time other than a couple blown coverages in the middle, buit their timing was on and the qb was on the money. This was a different attack, but for us to allow more points to this bunch after holding a very good liberty hill offense and wimberley offense to the 20s that says something for columbus. Our inside lbs both rested ailing injuries and didn't play, but I was impressed with columbus qb on this night. If they can play as well as they did tonight they have some wins ahead of them.

yes, the Columbus QB was the best I've seen all season too. He had 1 TD completion that I'm pretty sure he aired it out about 50 yards. It was like his receivers caught anything even close. They made some great catches. If not for an interception 80 yd pick 6, and a timely fumble recovery in the redzone, this game would have been much closer. I would like to see the QB's stats.

Also, they have a very big hoss #41 (that lines up as DE) that you'll have to double up on the Oline or run the other direction.

Giddings QB #15 Dock had a great night even though his receivers dropped a bunch of passes they should've caught. I'll bet he got close to a 100 yds rushing himself reading what the D was giving him.

We got banged up last night. Looks like #28 hurt his shoulder. I Pray that he's better soon.
