No joke, Llano is way improved in 2012. Maybe the best turn around team in 3a right now.

Llano is on low end of 3a with 500 enrollment. Llano is playing good ball right now but with 7-8 guys going both ways it is tough against the bigger, deeper schools.

My Brother in law lives down that way and he says Llano is MUCH improved from last year. I know Slaughter is the new man there and that is about all i know. What is the cause of the big turnaround?

Llano has a nice QB & RB. I think one or both also play DB but not sure....

Is Qb the younger Rabb? I think we played ya'll at our 7 on 7 tourny here. And ya'll beat us. We have'nt been able to defend the run at all, so i'm sure LHS will test us with the pass. Although we did lose starting safty friday with broken colarbone. Offense keeps stalling. lost on downs 2 times on 4th and inches. Don't understand how we have a 6'3"Qb and a line averaging 230 and we line up shot gun and try to run around the end! Qb also nursing sore shoulder and avoids hits. Backup soph. couldnt get it together either.

QB is younger Rabb. We mix run and pass. We have put lots of pressure on the opposing qb's but still not sure wether our d-line is that good or the o-lines have just been weaker.

Hey Lange I know Llano had really solid group coming want say it s the senior class but might be juniors....watch them come through Jr high and freshman but stopped watching the jackets. Am I correct?

A few talented seniors mixed with some talented juniors. Mainly skill position players.

Then we're in trouble. we don't put any pressure on Qb, defense sits back and lets play develope.

Wasn't as easy as yall thought ! Ya'lls LB did a number on 28 down by end zone when he shot in and hit him at the knees. Looks to be a knee injury. #7 helped yall out with turn overs, especially the one on yalls 10. all in all good game . we did play alot better. coaches did good job. I feel the diff. was defense, gave rabb way too much time, don't know what we're so afraid of. Down on 4 or 5 before yalls last score we blits a LB and got results. Needed more of that the whole game.

Good to See the Jackets bringing it, congrats on the win, Looks like we have identified the dark horse for district 8.

I certainly hope so, but who knows? It could be but there's a lot to be proven. For the last few years (except for last year), Llano was pretty regularly a solid team but not an elite team, a regular playoff contender that would usually go 7-3 or 6-4 and often take 2nd or 3rd in district. Last year the wheels fell off completely. Perhaps the coaching change and a new attitude is what the Jackets needed. Coach Yeager did a lot of good things for Llano but perhaps he achieved all he could there. It seemed like once he started diversifying away from the Slot-T it got tougher for him, yet he felt like he had to open up the offense to keep the defenses honest. In any event, Coach Slaughter has them playing quite well and it's a nice "feel good" story, especially since the Jackets are usually the lowest enrollment school in whatever 3A district they play in. They've already doubled their win total from last year, and while I'm not about to predict playoffs they will make more noise in district play than most of us thought a month ago.

The game was even closer than the score indicated. Llano made fewer mistakes overall and deserved the win. The two lost fumbles by Bandera were absolute killers. The first gave Llano the ball (and eventual TD) inside Bandera’s 20yd line. The second one ended a long drive for Bandera inside Llano’s 20. We had one TD called back on a penalty. We didn’t end up scoring on that drive either. Saw lots of positives for Bandera, and if we can cut down on the mistakes we could be little more of a factor come district. Good luck to Llano in the coming weeks.

Defense is where problems are now, that and taking care of the ball . play calling and execution are coming together. Haven't heard on injuries, esspecially # 28, that might hurt
