Better bring it this week or it will be similar to the game in December. We will have to be able to push the ball down the field and Buc runs a cover 4 base defense. Four of the first 5 games are against a different type of team, not in terms of talent but depth. If we stay healthy and grow from the first game I would consider that progress to fighting for a district championship.

The Ville pulls off the shocker this week. They will be ready this week after last weeks performance.

These regular season games seem to get pretty wild. The Jackets have pulled off some pretty incredible wins against Aledo at home and that is what I am looking for this time as well.

Every game these two have played at TSU Memorial has been wild and crazy. I believe this game will be no different and the Jackets come up with another one at home. Sville got out physical-ed in the trenches for part of their game with MT and Coach G said that will not happen again. We may get beat by a better team but it will not be because of a lack of physicality or effort. I expect a slobberknocker.

I'm at a loss in trying to predict this one. Knowing what I saw Friday vs Monterrey Tech, MT looked good! Very well coached and played like they eat jalapenos for pregame meals. Stephenville came out flat and didn't play with a lot of fire in the first half. Adjustments helped in the second half, but MT kept their foot on the peddle.
How good is HP? Didn't get to see them play Aledo. Is Aledo for real? I think so. Did Aledo perform well due to HP coming out like Stephenville did, flat? Didn't appear to. They were beat by a better Aledo team. So that goes back to how good is Aledo?
So, I'm going to hope Stephenville has a good week in practice and comes to play with more fire Friday, I know that won't be an issue, to give Aledo a dose of humility. It's a win win for both. Stephenville got theirs last week, and Aledo needs theirs this week.

This series at TSU Memorial has seen some great games, from the 2 day thunderstorm game, to last second hail mary's, 4th and inches stand to get the ball back and win on a last sec drive, to last year's not one but double FG block to end the game. Every game at TSU Memorial has been decided by 4 points or less, even when Aledo has been heavy favorites.

Unless the Stephenville team gets way more physical it's gonna be ugly for us in Ville. I voted Stephenville that's where I'm from. But one thing is for sure the Aledo team is physical. The junior group is Physical and dominated every year all the way back to 7th grade. They have never been beat from what I read.
I think it would be an upset for Stephenville to win. That sounds crazy!!! I hope it happens.

It can work if and only if there are no 2 way starters that get injured. Coach Allen did it with us in Brownwood.. we had a small senior class with not much help from the under classmen. About 7-8 of us went both ways. We had several injuries during the season, me included, and it hurt us. :helpme:

i can see #s 1 , 22, 55, and 64 making positive impacts going both ways...i wouldnt expose #2 that way though..and if the very fast CB had any offensive skill, he would have atleast had "a" touch last year on that side of the ball..

Him and #21 the other CB are the two fastest players on the team and I would be willing to bet that you will see them get more offensive snaps. This is not from any insider knowledge just from readin and hearing Coach G's interviews. I could be wrong but I doubt it.

#21 played WR last year when he was moved up and did some in 7 on 7 as well. #23 is 2nd on the depth chart after #1 at WR. #23 was switched to DB his soph. year because of his struggle catching the ball consistently. He has improved in that dept quite a bit. So if #1 and #88 need a breather you could very well see them on the field. I guarantee you would only have to give it to #23, 2 or 3 times a game on the jet sweep to force the oppo to respect it. That would open up even more for #2 and #22 after faking it to #23. I would expect these players to be more of a middle of a game offensive players then during nut crunchin time. I want to reiterate that this is only speculation on my part for what Coach G and Co. have in mind.

Aledo has a running back that is lightning in a bottle! Couldn't be more than 5'8" 150 lbs. S'ville couldn't stop him. Going to be a star next couple of years.

STEPHENVILLE — Stephen*ville quarterback Tyler Jones racked up 431 yards of offense and had a hand in four touchdowns Fri*day as the 3A No. 8 Yel*low Jackets stunned 4A No. 2 Aledo, 41-28, at Tar*leton Memorial Stadium. Jones passed for 293 yards and rushed for 138 more. He tossed two touchdown passes to Jar*rett Stidham and another to Brice Gunter and also kept an option for a 42*yard scoring run.

Stidham, a sophomore, burst onto the scene with 11 catches for 173 yards, while Gunter snared sev*en passes for 60 yards.

Stephenville rolled up 520 yards of offense in the upset.

The Yellow Jackets moved ahead 31-14, then 38-14, on Stidham’s two touchdown catches be*fore Aledo tried to rally late.

The Bearcats scored on a 1-yard run by quar*terback Pate Davis and added the two-point conversion to trail 38-22 with 4:38 left. Their de*fense then got the stop they needed before Davis hit Willie Gibson for a 61*yard touchdown.

But Aledo’s comeback hopes were dashed when the two-point conversion pass was dropped in the end zone. Stephenville’s Brice Gunter recovered the ensuing onside kick. A field goal by Luis Gar*cia with 38 seconds to play sealed the deal.

It was only Stephen*ville’s second win over Aledo in the past seven meetings between the state powers.

The victory gives the Yellow Jackets some sense of vengeance after falling to the Bearcats 33-0 in the 4A Division II quarterfinals last fall. Stephenville fell to 3A in the UIL’s biennial realignment in Febru*ary and started the year No. 1 in The Associated Press rankings before falling to Monterrey Prepa Tec (Mexico) last week.
