MV willl have lots of juniors on bothsides of the ball..After going 3-7 last year with the majority of sohpmores, should b interesting how fast they have grown..There 1000 yder Mata is back..Question is can MV's QB step up.First time MV has not had a veteren QB in last 3 yrs...MV still plays ball control ball first, pass later..MV in a close one..MV does have a great FG KICKER, that can easy hit 40 plus...MV by 3...

BearFan1, have you watched the Bears scrimmage? What are your thoughts?
I haven't seem them but suspect the defense will be better early than they were a year ago.
A returning QB is a plus, but I'm not sure how the RBs are looking.

MV won the game in the trench's, LV had a couple costly turnovers but they weren't going to win with the O-line that MV has. Thats probably the biggest line I've even seen in HS football, one tackle is 6'4-375 the other looked about 6'6-350+ and then throw in a couple 320lb guards and it meant they could just about do anything they wanted. Their rb's are short at less than 5'7 and by the time you found them behind that line they were 5+ yards past the line of scrimmage every time. Not going to get any easier for the Bears as we host another quality 4a team next week in Calhoun, then games against Canyon Lake and Wimberley. Looks like we might be going down the same road as last year when we took our lumps early against some very good teams but came together in district play and the playoffs making it to the regional finals at least that's my hope.
