This is information from the last realignment. Some of these may change but probably not many.

I am leaving out the Class A information.

Conference and District Assignment Policies and Procedures For 2002-03 and 2003-04 Realignment

The League office shall obtain enrollment data on participant schools (grades 9-12).

Students who are officially designated as having multiple disabilities may be excluded from the enrollment figures submitted for reclassification purposes.

The League office shall verify (through TEA) the enrollment figures submitted by the schools.

The number of schools needed for 32 districts in Conferences 2A through 5A shall be determined.
This figure shall be between 210 and 225.

Conference A will consist of all schools whose enrollment is less than that for 2A. The number of schools participating in an activity shall determine the number of districts.

Any school may request to be elevated one conference for extreme travel or in multiple-high school districts of eight or more schools, provided notification is submitted to the League office simultaneously with enrollment figures.

There shall be no attempt made to perpetuate or avoid "old rivalries." Socioeconomic and ethnicity factors are not considered.

A school may be placed in different districts for different activities to alleviate extreme travel situations.

Here is the link if you want to read the official set of rules for the last reclassification period.
