BTW, I read that Carthage dominated the controlled portion against Gladewater, but when it came to the live half, Gladewater scored on the final play and missed the PAT leaving Carthage with a narrow 14-13 victory.

I understand it's just a scrimmage, but is Gladewater finally getting back on track to what they once were?

Very nice. I just want field turf for our school. LOL. Wow, that's a nice scoreboard.

$750,000 worth of scoreboard to look at in Carthage.

Carthage rotated in a bunch of players in the live portion.

Gladewater doesn't have that luxury.

They are much better than last season though. Would be a playoff team in some of the other East Texas 3A districts.

Wonder if some of that $750k could have gone towards improving the educational efforts at the school. Probably not...

Like what? Build a new school? Upgrading technology? They're doing that too.

and

Building a multi-purpose facility which will hold a 100 yard indoor football field.

Ok..

Now we no longer have the largest video scoreboard in a 3A stadium..:(

But that looks really nice...and HD as well!

stuff like this is why people want to cut school funding... yes, i know how it works dont tell me about bonds but this will be used as an example of how irresponsible schools are with money and why they should cut funding even more and people will believe it

I guess a few playoff games will be played at the Carthage stadium this year. What is the seating capacity there? Maybe somebody could show us a few pics of the stadium....never been there.

Only decent photo I could find. Visitor side is about half of that. They have averaged a few playoff games a year since the stadium opened.

They'll have to get the word out for playoff teams, like when a far west Texas/Panhandle team wants to meet a north/central Texas team team they usually choose the Mustang bowl in Sweetwater (about 6500, no video board) or Shotwell in Abilene (15000 but old and too big for most 3A and under early round games) over Wylie bulldog stadium which seats 8200 and has a large video board as well. The most well known or traditional playoff venues usually get the nod from coaches..

How about a 2a playoff game among East Texas teams in the early rounds? Like a Tenaha vs. somebody. That's what I was speaking of.

Carthage hosted several playoff games last year including Center vs. Bullard in Round 1 of 3A playoffs.

Tenaha is 1A.

Dawgs looked good. Passing game still needs a little work. Isaiah Golden is huge.
