The two teams got together this morning at 9am for a scrimmage.
There was no "live" action, the entire scrimmage was in controlled format. However, Santa Rosa "defeated" the Hidalgo Pirates by the tally of 5 - 4
Some observations from people that were there: Hidalgo's offense will be very potent. Shea Patterson (freshman QB) can throw some very accurate passes with great touch. Hidalgo can and will score often. HOWEVER, Hidalgo's defense is an entirely different story. They gave up 5 TD's all due to horrible tackling attempts.
So the likely pattern for Hidalgo this year, they will try to score as many points as they possibly can and hope the other team doesn't score more points. One person described Hidalgo's defense as "horrible."
