I just saw this on Twiiter. It's unrelated to the scrimmage but about Wylie nonetheless.

* Have gone 12-12 over the past 2 seasons
■Mike Says: The Bulldogs only bring back 8 starters but have 26 lettermen from last years playoff team. This years team will feature a good running game led by RB Martin and a strong offensive line. Look for them to go 6-4 or 7-3 in the regular season and battle Monahans for the district championship. They would be the Division I team in the playoffs and should make it to at least the Regionals.
■Chris Says: Abilene Wylie will likely get off to a slow start between the tough pre-district schedule and new kids stepping into starting positions. Once they get rolling though, the Bulldogs will do fine. Expect them to be in the battle for the District 4-3A title and go a couple rounds deep before one of multiple weapon teams knocks them out of the playoffs.

Didn't make it to this one either, but heard some good things. Last week vs Vernon wasn't bad, and this week even better which is always a good sign. The only thing that bothers me is that I'm not sure Vernon/Iowa Park (no disrespect) are the best way to gauge the team. Monahans always gave us a tough scrimmage that set the tone for the season...and since that isn't possible anymore due to district, I think Sandifer should look at some 4A schools for future scrimmages. In any case, week 0 with Argyle will be a pretty good indication of what kind of team we have this year..

I've been told that the Hawks are gonna struggle again.

However, I have been told that Ponder's son is going to be a really good QB for the Hawks. I don't know his classification.

His son is a freshman and I have already heard people complaining about it. I think I'll just wait and see.

Give him a chance!! I guarantee Coach Ponder doesn't want to start a Freshman at QB and definitely doesn't want to put his son in that position. Problem is he owes it to the program and the Srs to give the Hawks the best chance to win and it looks like that might come with his Freshman son at QB. This decision will be alot more of a selfless act than most will give him credit for. His sons best interest would be kicking tail at the Freshman level and taking over next year but how do you look those Srs in the eyes if you know that you are not giving them the best chance to win. Coach Ponder what ever you decide I hope people will respect it and root for the Hawks. Good luck my friend!!

I agree that he's almost in a no win situation.
