Hearing Prime Prep WILL NOT be playing varsity games in 11-3A this season

Big turn of events. This thing fails in three years.

I picked a swell day to be in the office..

Here's the quick version:

Prime Prep needed PAPFs for pretty much all of their kids. They were supposed to fax them in prior to the DEC meeting today. They didn't do that. Their "AD" shows up late to the DEC and proceeds to tell them, that the majority of their players are not eligible for varsity competition in 2012.

Dallas Madison proposes that because Prime Prep doesn't have their S together, they be barred from varsity play in 2012. The motion is agreed upon.

Now it gets really hairy...because Prime Prep is unable to meet their obligation to 11-3A in 2012-2013, they can also be barred from the district in 2013-2014. So Prime Prep could potentially be sidelined for 2 years.

Also, just because the players who wind up staying at Prime Prep are now enrolled there, they still aren't cleared for varsity athletics until they get a PAPF...so players who are enrolled in 9th-12th grade currently at Prime Prep may NEVER be eligible for UIL varsity competition.

:rolleyes:I hate that the UIL even lets theses academy schools play with regular schools at all. The coaches hate having them in their district for very reason that they don't take care of business. Now all the schools in this district are left with an open date and no school to play, because everyone has their schedules set.

a kid from my son's 8th grade team enrolled there last spring, he played on sander's "truth" teams..i wonder if he'll be coming back pdq...

The ban is lifted, but that just means each individual sport will be looked at by the DEC...they won't be in the district next year either IMO for football
