I think he may end up at Southern University......right across the way from LSU and he can play immediately.....just my two cents.....

Since he was kicked off of the team, do the normal transfer rules apply or can he go to another D1?

I'll throw this out there...if you are kicked off a team for a third failed drug test, you can't transfer to another NCAA school. At least that is my understanding of the rules.

If it is the NCAA drug tests that are failed, the player can be banned from receiving financial aid if he tranfers to another NCAA school. They can go NAIA or declare for the NFL if they have played the required amount of time at College level.
