got mine in the mail a few weeks ago...was not suprised when Stephenville's analysis was twice as long as Alvarado's..still the mag's layout was awsome, great stories and good overall coverage..and FNF has the kahoonies to predict the playoff brackets all the way thru...well done Old Coach guys!

Well we did have the Stephenville Empire-Tribune guy write that preview..LOL

The mags should be in Abilene...I saw em out there last year..ugh I'm not happy with the distribution this year...I do know they are in Lubbock..I figure if they are in Lubbock they'd be in Abilene

I think I sold them one for $5.

Overall, the lower classifications really drew the most interest in the magazine. Stephenville & Cameron Yoe were probably the top two.

They are still not in Stephenville (as of last week). I found one in lampasas as I was passing through.

dont put too much into this pole. they left off Bowie in 2a. not the pole but yes they are not in any district. They also talked about the top two receiver for Decatur and how they are going to be a big part of the offense. Yes one is now the QB and the other had a carrier ending injury in the second game last year. it doesnt look like they even talked to the school or anyone from the district. over all some good reading but just another way to get money from the diehard football fans.

Yes we did leave Bowie off...that was an editing error...it happens in all magazines at some point...the writer for that district accidentally placed Bowie in their old 3A district, it was caught in editing but the editor only remembered to remove them from the district, he didn't place them in their new district..it was an error but those things happen....

As for not talking to the school or anyone from the district, that's just false...the writer who did 9-3A is a very good journalist and is as professional as they come. But we can only go off the information that's provided.

As far as Decatur goes, we didn't get a questionnaire from them, so the writer didnt exactly have much to work with. We are only in our third year of doing the magazine so a lot of coaches don't even know we exist yet, I'm quite proud of the product that we've put out the last three years.

Yes its a business venture but the hard work that is put into that magazine and any other publication should be rewarded and the way to do that is to charge for the service, to put together a magazine like that requires a lot of effort, especially a start up where everyone has other gigs. Free websites, magazines, etc. dont last long and tend to be of poorer quality because in the end it requires work to maintain them and no one wants to work for free.

i completely understand the mistakes. like i said, it has some very good reading and sorry if it was overly critical. i know that there are a lot of schools to keep up with. its also taken years for coaches to start using Max Prep.

I dont mind the being critical part so much, your last remark about just another way to get money from diehard football fans rubbed me the wrong way..

I thought the magazine was by far superior to DC. And judging by the stores being sold out, I'd tend to think that most agree..

or you could just buy the magazine lolis there more than one paragraph about coastal bend teams? DC was a joke, left it at the wal mart stand after glancing at it.

I must admit, DC has declined IMO over the years. Left the door open for a FNF type to come in and become the go to source for Texas HS football. Loved the cover, mag size, photos and look for better content in years to come. I rate it over DC, even with the growing hiccups. I have some print media background and know FNF will get things lined out quickly. Yes, we the fan's do want a source for our HS football, but--must be reliable and accurate, I see that coming for FNF.
