Little info on Texas TC first opponent, 7:30 this Friday at Strickland Stadium, Weimar. They sure got some quality (college) kid's partaking I hear. But, this isn't New York. LOL.

Texas TC pulled off a major upset last night, beating Modesto, California 8-7 in 9 innings. Modesto entered the game against the host team, as one of the topped ranked teams in the country. Facing this team that had several college players on it, our HS scrappy bunch took it to them, before letting a 7-2 lead slip away late. But, thanks to tremendous hitting/fielding by LaGranges Logan Vinklarek, a first inning bomb deep to right, several other solid clutch hit's by Dylan Blaha, Justin Neiser coupled with a gutsy RP outing (4.1IP, 2H, 1ER) by Sweet Home's very own crafty LHP'er Cade Brewer, and clutch late PH performance by, Trent Janecka of Weimar, Tri Counties upset the big dogs, and placed themselves in a great position to advance onto the next round, on the journey to win the Babe Ruth 18u World Series. With the hugh win, Texas TC moves to 2-1 overall. Vinklarek was named the games MVP.

Tonight, they'll have to keep the sticks going, as they tangling with the team deemed the nations top club--Mobile, Alabama (1-0) at 7:30 at Veterans Stadium, Strickland Field in Weimar. Alabama defeated New York yesterday 4-0. NY had defeated Texas TC in the BRWS opening game Friday, 8-0.

The HS kid's did it again. Upset the #1 team in the nation, Alabama 2-1. Bama had 8 college players on their team, to our none. With the win, Texas Tri Counties move to 3-1 in pool play and advances to next round. Real boy's of summer here. Amazing task's these underdogs are doing. Hallettsville Schlinder (spelling) pitch a gem and complete game.

Well, Texas Tri-Counties qualified for the next round. Finished pool play with a (3-1) mark. They'll start the next round (single elimination) Thursday at 7:30 vs. Port Angeles, Washington (2-2). Texas Mid-Counties --also qualified with a (3-1) pool play record and will play Modesto, California (2-2) just prior, at 5PM. To me, they are the favorites, though they lost 1-0 to Cape Cod, Massachusetts.

Cape Cod, Massachusetts (4-0) and Onondaga, New York (3-1) both earned the bye for winning their pool, and will play the winner of the above games on Friday, starting at 5PM.

Texas Tri-Counties, only team without college players on their roster. These kid's are amazing and playing some very fundamental baseball. Ya'll in the area, come out and watch some good ball the next 3 days, before 2-a-days start. The Championship game is set for Saturday.

Here is all the results to date heading into single elimination round:

Sounds to me like the Texas teams are showing the other teams what it takes to win quality games down here in good 'ol Texas, huh! We have alot of quality players in this state that can compete nationally with the best, and they're showing it. Keep it going, Boyz.

Well Texas Mid Counties was beaten by California 3-2. Kinda shocking IMO. Meanwhile, the kid's (Texas Tri-Counties) keep on winning and beat Washington 4-2. Weston Wick (LaGrange) was solid, going 6.1 IP, 2 ER before giving way to Weston Seay to close the door. Wick was totally in control all night till a 2 run homer in the 7th. Texas TC moves to 4-1 with the big win.

Texas TC will play the only undefeated team, Cape Cod, Mass (4-0) in the semi's, Friday at 7:30. Cali will play New York in the other semi's, with the winners facing of at 1PM Saturday for the World Series title. Great crowds have been present, so--keep it up gang.

NY did beat us in game 1 of the tournament, 8-0. But, I don't see it happening again.

Wowee!! What a great thing for the teams representing Texas to have a team in the finals. And for it to be the younger group is even better. Thanks for keeping us all informed on the results of the tourney...just wish I could have attended some of them.

And, to be the host team, and do this is even more unbelievable. These teams we are facing have proven themselves in several other qualifying tournaments to get here.
