LaMarque over Iraan 42 34.....Coogs come from a 20 to zip effort to 20-20 at half. The rest is history!

Lost to Lexington. Won the pool on points, whatever that means. I made it up for the last game so maybe I am bad luck. Lol

I think us and Carthage are in the same boat...very athletic teams but not great 7 on 7 teams bc neither team has what I would call pocket passers. I think Stephenville, Navasota, St. Pius etc will do well bc they have kids that can sling it.

Disappointed we didn't do better but I have said all along....we aren't a great 7-on-7 team. Skill kids on offense are young. I'm glad everyone is healthy and hopefully ready for August 6th.

Merkel 40 LM 34....Congrats to those guys. Great job!

Merkel and Iraan should play LaMarque in real football wonder how they would do?

Pocket passers are indeed an advantage for 7 on 7's, but a qb that can move and hit his recievers in game-time speed, or tuck it and run for the first is hard to beat. I think Celina, Carthage, and perhaps LaMargue may be structured with a qb that operates the "O" in this manner. Austin Aune was successful in his career doing it this way. It is tough to defend, and makes for some exciting plays that can turn games quickly with big plays.

That's why I am looking forward to this guys junior year (1500 rushing/1000 passing):
