American flag over one shoulder, Canadian flag over the other. He's also wearing a Texas bandana.

The long anticipated (at least by The Old Coach and a few fans) preview of The Old Coach Friday Night Football is just around the corner. Stay tuned for the cover preview and content tease.
The updated printing info says that the old Coach and staff should be able to have magazines in hand by the weekend and magazines shipped to stores early next week.

Here is the list of stores where the magazine will be distributed:

· Albertsons Dallas/Ft. Worth

· Walgreens

· 7-11

· Brookshire Brothers/Grocery

· CVS

· Duckwall

· HEB

· Kroger

· Lowes

· Safeway

· Target

· United Supermarket

· Walmart

This magazine will not be in every location of these units above. We are able to print a limited amount of magazines according to our budget and advertising revenue. Hopefully, each year this printed amount will increase due to store front and online sales, ad revenue, and interest in the overall content of the magazine. We are committed to producing the best quality and informational magazine possible for a Preview magazine on Texas High School football.

Look for the magazine at the State 7 on 7 and the THSCA convention.

If I can't find it I can't read it. Also, I'm not going to burn up $ 100.00 in gas to find a magazine. I do not buy online. That would require the use of a credit card which I only use in extreme circumstances. If I can't pay cash I don't buy it.

Our kicker is really good. He can hit from 50+. He is being pretty heavily recruited by several D1 schools.

a good kicker is very valuable..especially in the playoffs..we sure could have used one in the championship game last year!

regaleagle
07-25-2012, 10:58 AM
We'll wait til season's end to see which kicker(s) were more accurate and effective. Part of that is knowing when to kick it, and when not to. The Coach needs to know what the outside parimeter is that the kicker can consistently hit, and then there's game situations to consider. Then there's the holder, and the snapper...all these ingredients lending to the effort to make field goals an effective weapon. The kickoffs can also be neutralizing if your kicker can put it deep into the endzone, or directionally control his kicks on pooches and longer types. Hedland can do all these things, and did so as a Soph.

regaleagle
07-25-2012, 11:18 AM
On a side note about Hedland, his brother was the kicker before him and went to Wake Forest on a soccer/kicker scholarship. It helps if your Dad is the soccer coach for North Texas, lol. These boyz have been soccering it for years, and the older one was our starting qb til Aune took over midway thru his Frosh season. Before the Hedlands, we had an all-stater that became Baylor's kicker, and kicked in the All American bowl game. All of these kickers made all-state, and I reckon we have a pretty darn good kicking coach, not to mention Hedland Sr. in an advisory capacity. I guess you could say Coach Rodgers puts alot of emphasis on the kicking game for Argyle. Also, our punter Anthony Fuqua was outstanding last season with a season avg. that eclipsed 40+yds./kick and I don't know how many inside the 20. Plus his hang time was remarkable. He also recieved a scholarship somewhere as a punter. In the SC game, if you watch the clips, he boomed a couple of them.

Ok I got my copy a couple of days ago and see that Ingleside is ranked 3rd in district behind Rockport and predicted champs Sinton...I agree with Sinton winning district and I should be happy that Ingleside making it at least in the 3rd spot considering they graduated the house and have the least starters returning, but I'm gonna go with history and history says Ingleside has not finished worse than 2nd in the past 8 seasons with 3 district titles along the way.....and having Rockport and Sinton both at home I have to believe we will win at least one of those games, I guess the first game against Refugio will tell a lot.
