It has finally happened....a Gladewater Bear Varsity Cheerleader, Page Linder, is the 75th Queen of the East Texas Yamboree.

Seven contestants raised more than $300,000...the most in Yamboree history. This year's Yamboree will be held Oct 17-20.

She is a National Honor Society member, FFA vice president, class favorite, homecoming duchess, farm skill state contender Student Council representative, varsity cheerleader, Key Club member, class vice president, Yamboree Livestock Board member, and FFA Show Team (for the Argyle bunch...this is like hogs, chickens, etc that are still alive).

She plans to attend Texas Tech, and hopes to be a member of the Red Raider Show Team and obtain a business degree.

Hats off to a beautiful and bright young lady and all are invited to the festivities.

That is the truth. It's all about the ones that want to spend the most money. $300K for ticket sales from SIX high school girls? That just about says it all. I wasn't sure whether she was from Gladewater or Union Grove, but congrats to Paige Linder, a smart and beautiful girl who will represent the Yamboree with class.
