How you feel about this lawsuit? Personally, I think head injuries are just now being fully understood, but NFL football is at the apex of the risky contact sport pinnacle. I think there should be some sort of relief from the NFL in the form of insurance for the older veterans who do not have the insurance to take care of these later-life emerging life-threatening conditions.

Do they go after their college, High School, and peewee coach's next. And what about their parents for allowing them to play football? The effects are cumulative and just didn't start when they turned pro.

I have similar problems directly related to playing football in college. No one held a gun to my head to go back out on the field when I had concussions. I feel bad for the guys but you KNOW the risk involved in playing this game.

Slightly off-topic, but I read just the other day that dealing with the PTSD afflicting the continually-redeployed volunteers for the wars of the last 11 years will cost at least $1 trillion more of taxpayer dollar in coming years (on top of what those wars cost).

That's, of course, if Congress appropriates that kind of money to help them, which is VERY doubtful, given the Tea Party-fueled anti-tax and anti-"gubmint" mentality.

This approach many veterans are taking is preferable to the budget hawks.

Bottom line: be careful what you volunteer for, whether it's playing smashmouth football or signing up for possible smashbrain military service. The cold, cruel world is probably not going to care much about what happens to you once you make that voluntary decision.

All of us fans should counter-sue the players for the pathetic performance they gave in last years "Pro-bowl"....and maybe all the pro bowls in recent years.
