I know I am posting this late....but I go to court at 8:30 tomorrow morning to fight for guardianship of my granddaughter....who my husband and I have been raising for the past 13 months. Please pray that the judge sees how neglectful her parents have been and how she is so much better off here with me.....where she has lived since the day she was born!!

For the 3rd time it was postponed...this time due to a conflict of interest with the court appointed attorney for the mom....even though she didn't even show up!!

Now we are set for a new hearing on June 14th, with a new court appointed attorney!!

Had my court date today, it's a done deal. Unless either one hires a lawyer and fights me, she is mine until she is 18. The courts set up supervised visitation with the mother but left it to me to set up the visitation for the dad (my son) since he didn't drag it through the system like the mom did. I have no clue where the mother is, so she doesn't know what transpired today, my son is okay with it and admits that right now he can't take care of her, he can't even take care of himself!!

Thanks for your thoughts, prayers and good wishes.....this is a HUGE load off of my shoulders!!!!

At 5 years old, she doesn't even really understand what's going on right now. She asked me once why she lived with me and not her mom and dad, I told her that I didn't think they took good enough care of her....and she said, "and they fight too much too." Which they did, but they don't even speak now. I know I will have some hard questions to answer at a later date, but as of right now, she seems perfectly content to be where she is.
