either way is flawed IMO...for me the fairest way to do a 12 team SQT is to do 4 three team pools with everyone playing a cross over game during pool play..

This is how its done in soccer tournaments. The 3 teams from A play the 3 teams from B. The same with C and D. Then the teams with the best record from each pool adavance.

BEASTokay I get it now for some reason I wast still thinking 3 pools with 4 teams. Now it makes sense.

Basically you'd have this:

9am A1 vs. A2
9am B1 vs. B2
9am C1 vs. C2
9am D1 vs. D2
9am A3 vs. B3
9am C3 vs. D3

and so on...

Pool B Winner: Burnet
Pool C Winner: Brownwood
Top 2nd Place Finisher: Lorena

Qualifiers: Brownwood and Burnet
Champ: Brownwood

Pool play was spot on, but went 0 for 2 on qualifiers! Lorena beats Brownwood (or did Brownwood beat Brownwood) by 13, and Gatesville beats Burnett by 6.

Lorena and Gatesville advance to state in Aggieland.
