yeah but..when LM gets to the playoffs, can they hang with that east texas 3a speed...? and with Carthage returning 32 starters, you'll run into a brick wall in the semi!!!

Anyway you look at it, WC was trying to figure out how to replace several key players including stud QB and the entire o line. Very rusty at the very beginning of the season and won by 10 (WC was up 28-0 @ half and if I remember correctly Bport scored 2 tds late in the 4th after WC was up 31-7)....

And yeah i know what you mean CTS, 31-7 versus 68-3 is still no comparison, but trust me, the Necks will give LM a battle.


Even i dont have enough nads to predict a WC win at this point (i wanna see our team first).... but I promise you WC will make it tough. Back to back semi final runs and a combined 3 losses in the last 2 seasons tells me these boys know what it takes to be a legitimate competitor and i think that week 9 matchup will definitely be one to see.

Agreed Saggy. Lots of respect for the WC program. W's speak for themselves. I think you guys will roll Yates in bi-district. We just need to see where Navasota goes (big or small) to see how well paved the way is for another WC run. If Navasota is in DII u guys might be running into El Campo way down the line. It would be interesting for us to play Navasota. Our coach tried to schedule them for Week 5 and the Navasota coach literally hung up on him. They tried for 2 weeks to schedule but Navasota coach (Fedora I believe) wanted no part of LM. It's kinda sad bc I hear they are really good and might have got us this year.

Both KIPP schools should not be in this district. Sunnyside will be embarassed for two years by every team they play. They even have to play all their games on the road because they don't have a field.

My offspring will be returning at TE/DE as a senior. Some others are, Coleman Roark (Sr. LB), Chris Hobbs (Sr. OL), Ryan Griggs (Sr. OL). There will be a few Juniors next season that got some playing time last season as sophomores, that are going to be an asset as well, along with maybe a couple sophomores. I learned my lesson the last couple years about doubting that some of the holes would get filled and actually work out pretty good. Can't say enough about the whole coaching staff. They find a way to make it work and get it done in a short time. I look forward to watching the wizard do his majic again this next season. I like my standaround game but Football is my true love and i can't wait to hear the plastic rattle.

Not for sure on that but you could very well be right. I know there were a selected few in that age group that looked to have potential. We will definately be looking for our seniors to carry most of the load and these guys are very good. This group of young men lost only one game in the seventh grade, undefeated in the 8th, pretty sure they were undefeated their freshmen year as well. I know one of those undefeated years, their defense only allowed 12 points total for the whole season. That is a good reason why last years varsity defense was so potent. If this group of seniors gets enough help from some of their underclassmen, they will hold their own. You made a valid point and we will just have to see if we have enough guys that will be able to step up to the next level and compete. Didn't get a chance to follow the freshmen team last year so, I'll have to wait for practices to start to get a hard look at some of them practicing against varsity. Who knows, there maybe a couple of last years freshmen that were good enough to consider. By watching the JV practice against Varsity last year, i do know that there are a number of upcoming Juniors that have what it takes to compete on Varsity. No doubt in my mind we have the coaching, it will be up to the kids at that point. I predict we'll be good enough that there's not "any" team that should underestimate us for sure. As far as dominate, we shall see.

There were not as many Sophs playing on varsity last season as in seasons past. I guess they just were not ready to play at the varsity level. From what I gather I would not be surprised to see several Sophs on varsity this year, & maybe even a freshman, but we'll have to wait until practice starts to get a feel for what holes need to be filled & by whom...
