Won 8-1 tonight and swept the mets. Chris Johnson went 4/4 with 2 HRs and 6 rbis.

Astros season record is 11-14. Not too bad for supposed to be one of the worst teams ever. My prediction of 74 wins seems possible at this point.

And how about the diminutive Jose Altuve? Top 3 in batting average, not too shabby.

They're playing really good. I believe that they should be above .500 at this point with the way they are hitting and scoring. It just seems like their pitching is not up to par yet. They're scoring plenty of runs a game to win but they just cant keep the other team from scoring. If their pitching improves I think they could finish above .500.

The Astros really need to lock up altuve and Martinez. Think they're both only under contract through this season

Man, they`re smoking.

:iagree: Afraid they will be like the Rockets this year, hot and cold because of youth. But they sure are alot of fun to watch...

Also, Astros' top pitching prospect, Jarred Cosart, has been promoted to AAA after posting a 2.84 ERA in AA.

Aneury Rodriguez will start for Houston in place of Weiland who is on the DL with a shoulder infection. Cosart is taking Rodriguez' place in the AAA rotation for now.

this team looks alot better than anything Uncle Drayton has trotted out there over the last 3 years...
with Wandy rolling off to a good start, if he can keep that pace you know the Yankees or the Red Sox will pay top notch for him so there could be some more great prospects rolling in the future,
Myers could draw some looks as well...
you also lose Lee's contract this year... Singleton appears promising... of course what they look like in the minors and how they pan out in the majors are different things...
but if Altuve, Lowrie, Martinez, and Singleton turn out well, this could be a great nucleus along with Norris, Cosart and a few other pitching prospects...
they will win at best 70 games this year, but they will compete in every game for the most part...

Speaking of the Astros...

Check out this catch from Austin Wates. Prospect from AA Corpus Christi. Made ESPN's Top Play of the Day countdown.

Astros beat the Pirates tonight 1-0.

Norris pitched a gem and got out of a bases loaded no one out jam in the 6th without giving up a run.

Great performance tonight by Bud and the Astros are 15-17 on the season.

Thinking about buying my tix for the A&M night in the rangers series.

My prediction of 74 wins seems possible at this point.

I think they might get it. Obviously they're not gonna challenge for the division, but I don't think they're gonna finish last either.

Of course, unless they're somehow miraculously in playoff contention at the trade deadline, they're gonna deal Wandy, Brett Meyers, and maybe (hopefully) Carlos Lee so the win total could take a slight hit at the end of the year. But I wouldn't mind...

Astros pounding the brewers tonight.

Been slumping offensively lately and lost some games but tonight they're looking pretty good.

Norris was awesome. 7 innings with his only mistake being a solo shot given up to Corey Hart

Happ pitched 6 shutout innings tonight and the Astros beat the Brewers 4-0.

Been a while since Happ has pitched that well.

Astros leading 8-0 in the bottom of the 7th.

Norris pitched great again and the Astros are about to be 3.5 games out of first place in the central :D

Norris' may ERA is 0.34...

Wandy pitched 7 innings and gave up 1 run. Astros win 5-1 and their season record is 21-23.

At one point last season, the Astros were 20-34.

Good deal. He needs to keep pitching well to keep his trade value high.

Astros didn't play today but division leading st Louis lost.

Cincy wins and passes them by .5 a game. Astros are 4 games behind the reds.

Astros Leading Dodgers 3-0 in the 6th. Looking to get within a game of .500. Not bad for a team that lost 100+ games a year ago. They are playing good defense, timely hits with 2 outs, and pitching has been very good (especially the bullpen. Never expected to say that.). It's still early, but if they keep this up they could end up with between 75-80 wins. Anything above 70 after last year would have been fine with me. And speaking of former Astros, Hunter Pence hits a game winning 2-run HR to beat the Cards.

Lucas Harrell has been nothing short of dominant tonight. He has ZERO strikeouts but he has 16 ground ball outs through 7 innings shutting out the team with the best record in the majors. :)

'Stros have been a pleasant surprise so far this season.

Astros win 3-1. Bullpen was kinda a let down and plates an inherited run to give Harrell a 7 1/3 1ER night.

Still though, Astros improve to 22-23 :)

Astros have one of the best middle infielders in the game today IMO. I said one of the best. Lowrie/Altuve pretty solid. This team, with a few pieces added here and there have a long shot for a wild card. I still fear the farm system is lacking and I hate the fact they are going to the AL, and in the same division as the new "Yanks"--Texas Rangers.

All and all, I'm impressed with what Mills is getting from these guys.

I really like the direction this team is headed.

And YT, the Astros best shot at the postseason is winning their division. The central is very weak and it'd likely take a much better record to get a wild card

Let's be realistic though, I'd be happy if the Astros could win more than my predicted 74 games.

True that SA. Yes, they will have to win the div to get in after further review.

Agree, I love watching those Ranger sticks. Try watching your ace, Wandy give up 8 runs in two innings:doh: Wanted to trade him in July for some good prospects. Our only hope for that is blowing up...
