That is the Konami code ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Konami_Code ) I remember it from Contra. But I'd have to agree that TecmoBowl was one of the all time great football games. The games now are awesome to look at, but way more complex.

My favorite team was the Kansas City Chiefs, Derrick Thomas on defense was lightning quick and Christian Okoye was almost impossible to tackle. I love the way the defense would pop off the screen like popcorn when trying to tackle Okoye.
