SHS the two big showdowns on Tuesday will be Aransas Pass at Sinton for second place and Goliad at Rockport-Fulton. Rain may cause some postponements and delays unless it clears up soon. We are having heavy rains in the area today. Goliad is in the playoffs for sure and I think Aransas Pass is too.
If Goliad beats Rockport-Fulton they are district champions and Rockport-Fulton is out of the playoffs. If Rockport-Fulton wins they need Aransas Pass to beat Sinton because Aransas Pass beat them twice during the season and have the tie breaker. If that happens then Rockport-Fulton would probably have a playoff game with Sinton to determine third place. I don't know how the district championship would be decided if there is a two way tie right now so our best bet is to wait and see what happens. I expect Goliad to win but you never know for sure.

I hope Sinton didn't get as much rain as AP....our kids didn't go to school until 9:00 and then they released them at 1:00. Crazy, crazy weather!

Sinton got some rain but not that much. We may get some more though. It can't make up its' mind whether to clear up or rain some more.
Ingleside is sitting at 1-8 but could still get a tie for fifth place. The thing is they have several juniors and lots of sophomores on their team this year so I think with a year's experience and more time in the weight room they will be much stronger next year.

Here's a story that runs both baseball and softball scenarios together. But, it kind of sorts out 5-3A. Lol
SW-Snyder games to have playoff feel

Sweetwater takes on Snyder in district action tonight
By
Ron Howell
Today will be Sweetwater vs. Snyder day at both the baseball game at Newman Park at 7 p.m. and at the softball game that starts at 6:30 p.m. at Jerry Collins Complex, and the stakes are pretty high in both.
The baseball team’s situ-ation is the most critical as the Mustangs, with a 2-4 district record, may not be able to afford another loss to get into the playoffs.
A Sweetwater win would leave both teams 3-4 in district play with a game left.
Wylie (6-1), which has clinched the district title, goes to Brownwood (2-4) in the other district baseball game today. Sweetwater hosts Big Spring (3-4) on Friday in the team’s final regular season game.
The Sweetwater softball team has clinched a playoff berth, as has Snyder, but today’s game — which ends the regular season — will determine their bi-district seeding once postseason play gets started.
Sweetwater — 14-8 overall — and Snyder are both 4-3 in district and tied for sec-ond place behind Brown-wood (7-0), which clinched its third straight district title by defeating Sweetwater here last Friday.
Both Wylie (2-5) and Big Spring (2-5) have been eliminated from the playoff race with one game left.
Sweetwater collected 10 hits, including home runs by Claire Williams and Suede Shirley, against Brownwood but still had its three-game winning streak halted.
The baseball team fared better as it held off Brownwood, 4-3, to end a three-game losing skid. Sweetwater could still get into the playoffs with a loss against Snyder today if Brownwood loses to Wylie but then defeats
Snyder in Friday’s finale, assuming Sweetwater bounces back to defeat Big Spring. Such an out-come would create a three-way tie for third place with Sweetwater, Brownwood and Big Spring all 3-5 while Snyder (4-4) would be the second-place team.
If Sweetwater wins both of its games this week, it will be in the playoffs as either the second-place or third-place team. Should Sweetwater and Brownwood finish in a two-way tie with 4-4 records, Sweetwater would get the No. 2 seed because it has won both head-to-head matchups against the Lions, including a 14-8 win at Brownwood back on March 28.
If Sweetwater and Sny-der finish in a two-way tie for second at 4-4, either a one-game playoff or coin flip would be necessary because the teams would have split their two games.
