With their entrance into 3A, we need somebody to give us some good info on the La Marque Cougars. Most of us are somewhat acquainted with their winning tradition, but it would be good to hear more about them.

That, and they are always fast. When they are big (and slightly disciplined) they are really tough. Not sure how the declining enrollment will affect them...certainly their depth will be impacted.

I heard that when the hurricane blew through a couple of years back that when the people started migrating north to less hurricane prone areas that the families of the athletes were "taken care of".... So they would keep them there.

If Carthage goes D1, then yes they have a chance to be the D2 champs, but then the Ville comes in second in D1.

La Marque folks are saying they could be down this year. Could just be poor-mouthing, though.
Carthage couldn't win one last year WITHOUT La Marque or S'ville to contend with. Doubt they can do it with them around.

LaMarque will come into our district next year. Will they have tennis, golf, jv baseball, jv softball, any girls sub-varsity teams? How will they do in UIL events?

The last time we played there the dressing facilities for visitors in football were downright gross!!!!
And they have not fixed the problem.
