I don't know what happened. I had received a report that Celina came in 2nd to Crockett with a 42.4 but that their handoffs were great. Mayby they ran past the handoff zone or something. I was surprised when I saw the results and the DQ.

I hope there will be a vedio of the 4X400. I would love to see it.

I saw that, but the printed results I found here http://www.flotrack.org/article/11741-RESULTS-2012-Texas-Relays indicated a DQ in the 1=4X100 as well. I was not there just read the results and was wondering about the difference between what I heard and what I read.

Celina would have finished 6th in the College division behind South Plains, Wayland Baptist, Abilene Christian, TAMU Kingsville, and Barton County CC.

Apples and oranges, as Gatordaze mentioned, 16lb shot makes a HUGE difference.

I suppose anything is possible but he doesn't throw as far as Hayden Baillio did when he was in high school. In fact, when Hayden was only 16 (Jr year) he threw over 66', http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P_c4yyCXtUs
Hayden eventually went 74' and change in the summer before he enrolled at Texas...and was still only 17 years old.

Back to the story at hand, the relay, that is unbelievable for a school of less than 600 students to have the fastest time in the nation! Congrats!

Michael Carter threw 81' 3" in high school in 1979.

And still the KING!
When Hayden made his throws, he was 2nd all time, only Big Mike threw farther.

I don't know what Mr. Roos could do if he were healthy. Last year I believe he threw with his broken foot in a boot, and this year if I am not mistaken, he is still recovering from knee surgery he had just after football season. I'm looking forward to seeing what he can do when he is gown and healthy.

3:14 is rolling...

Gotta give a little East Texas love to Cook from Overton. The Class 1A hoss was hanging with the big boys in the discus and somewhat in the shot put.

BTW, not even Chuck Norris can throw the shot farther than Big Mike Carter.

Congrats to the Celina 4x400 relay team, and Roos for their stellar wins at the Texas Relays. I recall when my son was on the winning 4X400 winning team at the Texas Relays in 07. He was the lead off, and the team ran a 3:17 in the rain on a wet track to edge out Cove for the gold. 3:14 is just smoking it. Great win!
